“MIS Cares” Grants Now Available

Recent recipients gather on the track at MIS following awards banquent (photo courtesy: NASCAR) The spirit of giving isn’t just a seasonal belief at Michigan International Speedway; it’s the racetrack’s way of doing business. MIS Cares, the track’s charity arm, holds that same belief and continues to make a difference in the community with its grant program. The speedway provides a valuable fund-raising platform for future educational opportunities throughout the year. Now, organizations can apply to receive a grant up to $5,000 to aid in their efforts. In 2017 organizations in Lenawee and Jackson Counties are invited to apply for the MIS Cares Grant. The focus is to provide for those in the community that have a tie to youth programs or education. “We are excited to offer grants to local organizations to aid in their initiatives to promote education,” speedway President Roger Curtis said. “Our staff lives in the community and we continue to strive to give back to the area.” All organizations that are a 501(c)(3) entity may download an application now at www.miscares.com. Tuesday Green Division The Stein's 13  Broken Yoke 8.  Albert Bonney III went 4 for 4 with a triple and a double while Dunlan Harbottle went 2 for 4 with a double to lead The Stein's.  Mike Wells went 3 for 4 with a triple and a double and Al Edwards also went 3 for 4 with a double for Broken Yoke.   Brass Rail 8  JVB/Brass Rail 5.  Kris Gunterman went 3 for 3 with a triple and Mike French went 2 for 3 with a double to win the Battle of the Brass Rail.
