Some light rain showers could move in tonight and Saturday morning before departing. Breezy, with a south southwest wind 17 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Saturday Showers likely, mainly before 1pm. Cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 46. Southwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. January 26 Yoga at Meijer Branch, Jackson District Library.  Stop by the Meijer Branch every Friday at 8:30 a.m. and let Jeanette Lamphere teach you yoga. Live Music at The Jackson Coffee Company.  Tonight, Steve Berkemeier.  For more than 20 years now, Berkemeier has combined the strength of his original songs with popular, classic and contemporary songs by other artists, to entertain audiences all over the State of Michigan and Ohio. His frequent appearances at area festivals and venues have made him one of the region's most popular entertainers.  7 PM to 10 PM, Jackson Coffee Company, corner of Mechanic and Cortland Streets, Downtown Jackson.  No Admission Charge. “Star Wars The Last Jedi” will have its final showing tonight at the Michigan Theatre.  Doors open at 6:30 PM, film begins at 7 PM.  Admission is $5. Veterans motivated and powering East Jackson boys basketball team

By Mike Moore                                                  (Photo By Ryan Kerwin, JTV Sports) Staff Writer   Jackson — In 21 games last winter, the East Jackson boys basketball team managed a total of seven wins.   An up-and-coming team without many seniors, but still with some veteran leadership expected more.   In 10 games this winter, the Trojans entered Wednesday night’s home tilt with Grass Lake with nine wins.   An established team with a roster full of seniors and experience, well, things are going almost exactly as coach Rodney Lowden had hoped.   “When the season started, I think we felt we had a chance to win every game we played in,” Lowden said. “At the same time, these guys understand what it takes, and understand any team we play could beat us.”   But entering Wednesday, only one had.   And as Wednesday night played out, it became very apparent why that has been the case.   Leading by just a single point, 17-16, after the first quarter, East Jackson shifted into high gear.   Quick passing.
