Jackson County Parks Announces “Palooza at the Falls”
(Brian Randall Band, courtesy photo) The Jackson County Parks Department has announced a new, first-time event at The Cascades this summer. Scheduled for Thursday, June 7th, PALOOZA at the FALLS, is a live music show with the backdrop of The Cascades illuminated waterfall. Entertainment includes the Brian Randall Band, one of Michigan’s top, emerging county bands, and The RockShow, dubbed as the Midwest’s best Journey Tribute Band. Jackson County Parks Director Jeff Hovarter is excited to offer a new entertainment opportunity at The Cascades. “This event is a spin-off of our Wednesday night family nights that have become a tradition and we’re trying to create a more adult driven evening. We are excited about it as a first time event and hope to do more of these in the future.” Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the gate. St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Receives “A” Rating
Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades, which assigns A, B, C, D and F letter grades to hospitals nationally for having the highest safety standards, announced today that St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea received an “A” ranking on its Spring 2018 scorecard. "This scorecard recognizes our hospital's commitment to patients and their safety," said Nancy Graebner, president and CEO of St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea. "From our administrative leadership to clinicians on the floor, we continue to elevate the standard of care we provide patients through transparency, communication and teamwork." St. Joe's was one of 750 hospitals nationally to be awarded an “A” for preventing medical errors, infections and other harms among its patients. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 27 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign grades to approximately 2,500 U.S. hospitals twice per year. It is peer reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public.
