Jackson College Winter Film Series.  Jackson College Monday Night Film Series “Bohemian Rhapsody”.  Queen cements a legacy that continues to inspire outsiders, dreamers and music lovers to this day. Bohemian Rhapsody is a movie based on the true story of Queen's journey from the start of the rock band to their now-legendary 1985 performance at the Live Aid concert in Wembley Stadium.  Michigan Theatre, Downtown Jackson.  Doors open at 6:30 P.M. Film Starts at 7:15 P.M. Admission 5 Dollars. The Works of Robyn Ladwig.  Prior to living in Michigan, Robyn was born and raised in south Florida, where she developed a love for the ocean and the natural world of the South.  Her work focuses on aerial coastline paintings created in acrylic and epoxy resin.  Bringing her love of the natural world to canvas, it allows her to explore different mediums of texture and movement.  The exhibition is open from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. weekdays and during performances at the Potter Center.   Jackson College Central Campus, Potter Center.

Brooklyn Chamber Honors Darby Ready Mix and BPI’s Lisa Bascom at Annual Awards Event

The Brooklyn-Irish Hills Chamber of Commerce honored businesses and community members at the 39th Annual Meeting and Awards Dinner this week.   Darby Ready Mix was named the 2019 Business of the Year and Lisa Bascom, President of Brooklyn Products International, was chosen for the 2019 Citizen of the Year honor.  The Board of Directors presented awards and anniversary certificates to 35 members.  Included in the awards were 9 Spruce Awards presented to: Adrian College Boathouse, Brooklyn Bridal & Prom, The Corner Cottage, Freshcorn Building, Irish Hills Golf Course, The Irish Hills Center, Irish Hills Wedding Barn, Pirates Port to Port Adventure Golf and Skydive Tecumseh.  Spruce Awards are presented to businesses and organizations for improvements made to their facilities in the past year. The Taste of the Irish Hills People’s Choice went to The Greenleaf Mansion Bed & Breakfast.  Ambassador of the Year went to Renee Smith of Hideaway Cove Log Cabins.  The Emerald Award—Gem of the Community was awarded to The Brooklyn Community Chest.  Region 2 Area Agency on Aging received the Heart of…
