Kurzynowski Looks to Return to Golf Glory

A year later, Kurzynowski could feel that something was not right in his back. Two years later doctors would insert two eight-inch rods in his back with a “cage” around the rods. “I was diagnosed with two degenerative discs and three degenerative vertebrae in my back,” Kurzynowski said last week after losing in the Jackson City Golf Championships at Cascades Golf Course. “I think it came from bad decisions in my 20s and the wear-and-tear of beating golf balls for years. He had the surgery in January of 2012, but didn’t pick up a golf club for at least eight months. “I just started with some chip shots,” Kurzynowski said. “I didn’t play tournament golf…

By Jeff Steers JTV Sports NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series driver Kevin Harvick must circle the August race at Michigan International Speedway on his calendar each year. Harvick won for the third time at the Brooklyn track taking the Consumers Energy 400 on Sunday. All of his wins have been at the August event at MIS. He won the same race in August last year. Harvick took the lead with 17 laps remaining by passing Joey Logano. Logano dominated the second half of the race before nearly running out of fuel. Harvick recovered from a punctured front tire early in the race to pull out the win. “It was a day of a little bit of adversity that we were able to overcome,” Harvick said following the win. “We had a really fast car all weekend.” Michigan native Brad Keselowski dominated the first half of the race, but spun and finished 19th in the race. A Michigan driver has yet to win at MIS. Rounding out the top 10 were Denny Hamlin, Kyle Larson,…
