Jackson College to Offer Some In-Person Classes this Fall

(August 17, 2020 5:48 PM) Jackson College has announced the addition of more in-person classes to begin in September. While the COVID-19 pandemic prompted a move to all virtual learning back in March, College leaders had planned to continue primarily online for the fall semester, with some limited labs and clinicals offered for those needing hands-on learning. However, after listening to requests from the community and students, College leadership decided to offer more in-person learning opportunities. Classes will be offered in large lecture halls that allow for physical distancing, masks will be required and safety protocols have been put in place across Central Campus. Courses will be a good fit for a first-year student’s schedule but any student could benefit. “There is a little bit for everyone; SEM 140, Seminar in Life Pathways, is required of all students, foundation studies and great transferable courses like communication and history (Minority Groups in America),” said Ashley Van Heest, director of transfer and scheduling.     The in-person schedule will include a selection of three-credit classes beginning the week of Sept. 21: Interpersonal Communication        2:00 p.m. - 3:43 p.m., Monday, Tuesday Introduction to College Writing     2:00 p.m. - 3:43 p.m.,        Wednesday,…
