Michigan is reporting 26** COVID-19-related deaths today with the state total at 19,921. *Note on cases (08/03/2021): Today's daily case count represents new referrals of confirmed cases to the MDSS since the last web update report. Over the four days (Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday), the average number of new confirmed cases is ~651 per day. **The deaths announced today includes 10 deaths identified during a Vital Records review. (August 3, 2021 12:19 PM) The Jackson County Department of Transportation will close Airport Road to through traffic between Wildwood Avenue and Laurence Avenue on Thursday, August 5, 2021 and Monday, August 9, 2021, weather permitting. Crews will be cutting and removing driveways and performing drainage work in preparation for road construction. Airport Road will reopen at the end of each day. No detour route will be posted and motorists should seek alternative routes.

As of 12:00 PM today, there are 14,993 positive cases (cumulative), and 288 deaths (cumulative)*. There are 23 new cases since yesterday’s report. Cumulative recovered, as of August 3: 14,474** As of July 29, there are 3 persons at Henry Ford Allegiance Health being treated as inpatients for COVID-19. The cumulative numbers posted on Mondays include the data from Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Recovered numbers are being posted as received. *These numbers do not reflect any cases or deaths identified through Michigan Department of Corrections. Their numbers are listed under a separate category and reported by the state at Michigan Statistics.
