Friday, July 1 Grand River Brewery 9th Anniversary Pig Roast.  4 PM to 11 PM.  It’s time to celebrate!! This Friday we are celebrating our 9th anniversary!  Live music starts at 4 pm.  Hawaiian Buffet and Pig Roast on the side patio at 5 (Tickets are $28 at the door).  PLANET BASIL ALL DAY!  Grand River Brewery, Glick & Mechanic, Downtown Jackson. City of Jackson Construction Update June 30, 2022

(June 30, 2022 6:53 PM) The City of Jackson has released the weekly construction update on three projects: West Avenue Construction Project Over the past week, the lids of manholes and water valves were adjusted up to match the top of the new pavement. The contractor then did cleanup tasks and removed equipment for the project zone. At this point, all work for the contract to replace the water main and water services is complete. Next week, work on the contract to replace the traffic signal and realign the intersection at West and Franklin will commence. The excavation subcontractor will arrive next week to do curb and pavement removals to make the intersection ready for the electricians. Removals are expected to be completed by the end of next week. After removals are complete, the electricians will arrive to begin work on the new traffic signals. Their first task will be the installation of new concrete bases that will support the new signal poles. The concrete base work will take about a week to complete. E. Summer Kids Film Series.  This week:  “Sing 2”. Michigan Theatre of Jackson is host to the Summer Kids Film Series (Tuesdays through Thursdays) with 11 AM and 2 PM screenings throughout the summer, presented by the Kiwanis Club of Jackson.  Doors open 30 minutes before screen time (10:30 am and 1:30 pm).  Admission is $1.  Kids Combo Small Drink and Popcorn is $4.  Michigan Theatre, Downtown Jackson. Summer Nights Concert at Leoni Township Park.  6 PM to 9 PM.  The Leoni Township Parks and Recreation Committee is hosting Summer Nights in the Park from 6 to 9 p.m. every other Thursday throughout the summer at the Leoni Township Park on Fifth Street in Michigan Center. Music, Vendors, Food Trucks and more!  Tonight’s band:  All Direction. Woodford Reserve Bourbon Dinner.  6:30 PM to 10 PM.  Join us for a four course dinner prepared by Chef Colin Theodorus paired with Woodford Reserve Bourbons.
