NaNoWriMo Kick Start Workshop.  6 PM to 7:30 PM.  Are you interested in writing the next great American novel or just growing your fiction writing skills overall? Have you hit a rut or wanted to write something and just can’t get started?  Kick off National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) at the Jackson District Library Eastern Branch with a community of writers to gain valuable feedback, and participate in interactive shenanigans that will make you a better writer.  Intended for ages 14+. Registration is required.  This event will be presented by Albion resident and high school English teacher Tiffini N. Volleyball District Tournaments Division 3 At Reading High School Homer 3, Concord 1: Homer High School advances in the district tournament to play Hanover-Horton on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the district semifinal round. Iyla Weeks had 16 kills and two blocks, Autumn Cornell finished with nine kills, and Layla Hellard tallied 25 assists for Concord.  Reading 3, Quincy 0: The Rangers advance to play Jonesville in the semifinal round Wednesday at 7 p.m.  Division 3  at Addison High School Hudson 3, Addison 1: Hudson High School advances to play Columbia Central in the district semifinal round on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.  Napoleon 3, Clinton 0: The Pirates defeated Clinton in the opening round of the district tournament at Addison High School Monday. Napoleon faces Manchester in the district semifinal on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at AHS. Napoleon was led by Alyssa Budd with 10 kills and Maggie Beer with seven. Momo Hampton dished 23 assists and Keegan Schoendorf had 18 digs for Napoleon. Tri River Conference Announces All-Conference Football Teams

(October 31, 2022 4:46 PM) The following local players were named to all-conference team for the Tri River 8-Man Football Conference as voted on by coaches.  Offense – Mekhi Wingfield, receiver, Concord, Abe Reiniche, lineman, Concord, Lewis Fritz, kicker, Concord. Athletes – Anthony Evans, Concord and T.J. Allen, Concord.   Defense – Collin Thompson, Concord, lineman; Zach Green, Vandercook Lake, lineman; and Ja’Vion Taylor, Concord, defensive back.   Honorable mention – Kyle Cavins, Vandercook Lake.  Sportsmanship – Riley McCullar, Vandercook Lake and Logan Lamb, Concord.
