By Jeff Steers JTV Sports (March 20, 2023 4:17 PM ET) With a number of running events in the coming months, running enthusiasts in Grass Lake held a pop-up training session on Saturday at the Lost Railway Museum. More than two dozen runners – a majority of them from the Grass Lake Road Runners – proceeded along the Traffic Jam’in 5K course in Grass Lake.  The group gathers every Saturday to train in the Grass Lake area. Ann Arbor Running Company owner Nick Stanko was there for support and to donate $10 off coupons to attendees who ran with the Road Runners. Runners had an opportunity to try ASICS running shoes as shown by representative Tim O’Hara.  Fortress Café provided freshly brewed coffee and M&K Jetting and Television and the Orthopaedic Race Series provided snacks for the participants.  For more information on the running group, go to www.glroadrunners.org.  More photos from the day courtesy ORS:

JPS Graduate Stinson Keynote Speaker at JC Mental Health Forum

Jackson native Darryll Stinson makes a point during a Mental Health Forum at Jackson College Monday.  Photo by Jeff Steers, JTV News. The JPS graduate spent nearly 45 minutes explaining to students, college representatives, and community members how he spun himself out of the situation with help from health professionals and his family. Stinson was the keynote speaker at the Uniting for Hope and Healing Mental Health Forum held Monday at Jackson College. The event was sponsored by the college’s Multicultural Affairs Department in Bert Walker Hall.  A panel discussion was led by college representatives including Chief Clinical Officer of Family Services & Children’s Aid Sarah Sabin; health and fitness Coach Nacoya…
