LCCHS running back Kadale Williams said he had “Seniors in front of him and had to wait his turn. I couldn’t rush into things” before this season. This year, he’s turned it on and performed at high levels for the Titans offense. Williams had three touchdowns on Saturday afternoon as Lumen Christi’s 35-7 victory sends them to Ford Field for the 13th time since 2000.

The Titans began the game with a slow start, an interception on 3rd and 4 from Timmy Crowley gave Millington the ball back. But, a sack by Lundon Hampton on 4th and 2 gave LC the ball back. From there on, it was Kadale Williams’ time to shine.

A 10-yard reception by Gabe King set up a 56-yard run by Williams to get them inside the ten. Williams capped off the drive with a five-yard touchdown to give LC a 7-0 lead.

After a Millington punt, Lumen Christi had possession again with a similar result. Kadale Williams ended the opening quarter with a 32-yard touchdown to make it a 14-0 LC lead.

Lumen Christi continued to force punts from Millington well into the second quarter and continued to roll on offense. A keeper from QB Timmy Crowley and a 20-yard run by Gabe King set up Kadale Williams’ third touchdown of the afternoon from four yards out, 21-0 LC. Alex Pastoriza capped the first half with an interception for just one of two total turnovers all day.

Millington opened up the second half with a punt on 4th and 5. Timmy Crowley opened the second half for Lumen Christi with a 34-yard strike to TE Charlie Saunders to make it 28-0 with 8:55 left in the third, Crowley’s 10th passing touchdown of the season. Crowley added his own touchdown just minutes later. A 12-yard run by Josh Dumont set up that Crowley touchdown, a QB sneak from a yard out to make it 35-0 Lumen Christi after three quarters.

Millington finished with just 49 total rushing yards, most of which came on their last offensive drive of the day. Dallas Walsh rushed for 25 yards on that drive and capped it with a touchdown to make it 35-7. Lumen Christi dominated early and took a 35-7 win on Saturday afternoon at John Glenn High School.

Kadale Williams finished with three touchdowns and 139 rushing yards. QB Timmy Crowley finished with a 34-yard passing touchdown and a one-yard rushing touchdown. Antwon Baker tallied seven tackles and Alex Pastoriza added four tackles and an interception.

Lumen Christi HC Herb Brogan: “It’s really difficult to go back-to-back. But we’ve had great senior leadership and have been focused since day one.” Brogan speaks on being back at Ford Field for the 13th time since 2000: “It never gets old. I love it, it’s a different group with different challenges each year. Looking forward to it”.

The Titans will face Menominee in the Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 7 final on Sunday, Nov. 26, at 9:30 a.m. at Ford Field in Detroit.
