18 games in the Jackson-area on Valentine’s Day this past Friday, if you skipped an expensive dinner reservation to watch some High School Basketball, you made the right decision. There were some great games on Friday, here’s the JTV Sports Weekend Recap:



Jackson defeats Tecumseh 69-52

The Vikings jumped out to a 31-21 halftime lead and never looked back. Daivion Boleware, Damarion Samuels and LeRay Griffin each scored 16 points to lead Jackson. Jackson improves to 5-10 overall and 4-7 in SEC White play.


Northwest defeats Lumen Christi 55-43

NW led at halftime 27-10 and held off Lumen Christi late in the game to secure an important I-8 conference win. Dawson White scored 12 points and added 5 assists to lead the Mounties. Joe Frederickson pitched in 11 points and 6 steals.


Coldwater defeats Parma Western 63-51

Makyle Doss, who was our JTV Sports Player of The Week, scored 14 points to lead the Panthers. Trey Cottingham scored 10 points.


East Jackson defeats Addison 65-47

Devon Poole led the EJ Trojans with 26 points and 4 assists. Gabe Harmon added 14 points and 4 rebounds.


Hanover Horton defeats Grass Lake 57-44

Jack Brockie led the HH Comets with 18 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. Luc Laketa added 9 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. Brennan Bargesser had 18 points to lead Grass Lake while Carson Canning had 8 points.


Springport defeats Bronson 41-38

McCartney Robinson scored 14 points and added 14 rebounds to lead the Spartans.


Napoleon defeats Vandercook Lake 69-58

Jarod Viers led Napoleon with a double-double adding 17 points and 16 rebounds. Alex Darnell had 17 points and 5 rebounds.


Jonesville defeats Concord 62-46

Quincy defeats Homer 72-58

Leslie defeats Lansing Christian 56-40

Stockbridge defeats Olivet 41-35



Northwest defeats Lumen Christi 58-37

Morgan Hanchett scored 17 points to lead the NW Mounties while Brooklynne Bevier added 14 points and Jozie Bontrager pitched in 9 points.


Parma Western defeats Coldwater 49-39

Western used an 18-9 run in the 3rd Quarter to take a 49-39 I-8 conference win. Reece Hitt scored 18 points to lead Western while Natalie Shellberg added 11 points.


Springport defeats Bronson 54-33

Northwood University commit Alana Nelson led the SHS Spartans with 24 points, 15 rebounds, 7 steals, 3 assists and 2 blocks. Ryann Overweg added 10 points, 7 steals, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Springport clinched the 2020 Big 8 Girls Basketball Conference Championship with the victory. 


Stockbridge defeats Olivet 47-34

Gwen Rogozinski led the Stockbridge Panthers with 18 points and 6 rebounds.


Concord defeats Jonesville 48-35

Billie Weeks scored 22 points to lead all Yellowjacket scorers.


Lansing Christian defeats Leslie 52-42

Quincy defeats Homer 36-17
