Jackson County Cumulative Report: 7,758 COVID-19 Positive Cases and 162 Deaths

Updated with weekly map. (UPDATED January 4, 2021 10:13 PM) The Jackson County Health Department released the COVID-19 positive numbers for Jackson County.  As of 12 PM today, there are 7,758 positive cases (cumulative), and 162 deaths (cumulative)*.     There are 123 new cases and 4 new deaths since Saturday’s report.  Cumulative recovered, as of January 4, 2020:  5,730** The cumulative numbers posted on Mondays include the data from Sunday and Monday.  Recovered numbers are being posted as received. The Michigan Department of Corrections is reporting as of 4:00 PM December 30, there are 4,130 confirmed positive cases at Jackson facilities and 508 confirmed positive staff cases.  MDOC positive case numbers are cumulative. As of 4 PM December 28, there 43 persons at Henry Ford Allegiance Health being treated as inpatients for COVID-19. Note:  Jackson County will post COVID-19 data daily by mid-afternoon, Monday-Saturday, keeping with the schedule established by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS). MDOC Cumulative Report: 4,130 Confirmed Positive Cases at Jackson Facilities, 508 Confirmed Positive Jackson Staff

(January 3, 2021 7:58 PM) The Michigan Department of Corrections is reporting as of 4:00 PM December 30, there are 21,844 confirmed positive COVID-19 cumulative cases at facilities throughout the state.  Of that statewide total, 4,130 of the confirmed positive cases are at Jackson facilities.    Throughout the state corrections system, there are currently 6,538 active cases. In Jackson, there are 1,578 confirmed positive COVID-19 cases at Charles E. Egeler Reception and Guidance Center,  at 1,213 Cooper Street Correctional Facility, 26 at Duane Waters Health Center, 797 at G. Robert Cotton Correctional Facility, and 516 at Parnall Correctional Facility.  Among staff, there are a total of 2,961 COVID-19 positive cases statewide.  In Jackson, there are 159 confirmed positive COVID-19 cases among employees at Charles E. Egeler Reception and Guidance Center, 152 at Cooper Street Correctional Facility, 93 at G. Robert Cotton Correctional Facility, 4 at Jackson Regional Warehouse, 3 at Jackson Regional Office, 2 at Jackson Training Center and 95 at Parnall Correctional Facility.  There have been a total of 117 deaths (statewide) of prisoners who had tested positive for COVID-19, 28 of those deaths were among prisoners at Jackson facilities.  Testing continues daily at all facilities. Michigan Reports 8,983* Coronavirus Cases Today, State Total Now 497,127

(January 2, 2021 3:24 PM) Michigan reported 8,983* coronavirus (COVID-19) positive test cases today, with the state reported total now at 497,127. Michigan is reporting 265 COVID-19-related deaths today (including Thursday, Friday, and Saturday deaths), with the state total at 12,598.  *Note on cases (01/02/21): Today’s daily case count represents new referrals of confirmed cases to the MDSS since Wednesday, December 30th.  Over the three days, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the average number of new confirmed cases is ~2,994 per day. State Cumulative Total of Recovered COVID-19 Cases (as of 12/23/2020): 318,389. This information is updated Monday through Saturday at 3 p.m., with COVID-19 results included as of 10 a.m.  Monday reports include Sunday data.

(January 2, 2021 1:27 PM) The Jackson County Health Department released the COVID-19 positive numbers for Jackson County.  As of 12 PM today, there are 7,635 positive cases (cumulative), and 158 deaths (cumulative)*.     There are 124 new cases and 6 new deaths since Wednesday’s report.  Cumulative recovered, as of January 2, 2020:  5,442** The cumulative numbers posted on Mondays include the data from Sunday and Monday.  Recovered numbers are being posted as received. Jackson County Health Officer Rashmi Travis on Vaccination Plan

Vaccine Strategy Progress Report:  The Jackson County Health Department has received its first allocation of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine and has reached out to Phase 1A Priority One and 1A Priority Two groups for vaccination.  We are working to provide vaccine to the groups in the order shown on the chart below.  Due to the limited amount of vaccine received, we have not yet contacted all who fall into Phase 1A. We will be reaching out to 1A Priority Three groups for scheduling of appointments when we expect our next shipment of vaccine. We are in the process of establishing a contact with each healthcare provider office and healthcare organization in the county. If we have not yet reached out to your office, or if you are a healthcare worker that we have missed, you can email JCHDCOVID@mijackson.org or give us a call at 788-4420 opt. 9 and provide your name, email address, phone #, and a brief description of your healthcare role. We are not collecting individual information from anyone in Phase 1B or 1C at this time.

Michigan Reports 4,222 Coronavirus Cases Today, State Total Now 488,144

(December 30, 2020 3:20 PM) Michigan reported 4,222 coronavirus (COVID-19) positive test cases today, with the state reported total now at 488.144. Michigan is reporting 51 COVID-19-related deaths today, with the state total at 12,333.  *Note: Data will be updated on 12/30 and 1/2. It will not be updated on 12/31 or 1/1 due to the holiday. State Cumulative Total of Recovered COVID-19 Cases (as of 12/23/2020): 318,389. This information is updated Monday through Saturday at 3 p.m., with COVID-19 results included as of 10 a.m.  Monday reports include Sunday data.

(December 30, 2020 12:00 PM) The Jackson County Health Department released the COVID-19 positive numbers for Jackson County.  As of 12 PM today, there are 7,511 positive cases (cumulative), and 152 deaths (cumulative)*.     There are 85 new cases since yesterday’s report. Cumulative recovered, as of December 30, 2020:  5,053** The cumulative numbers posted on Mondays include the data from Sunday and Monday.  Recovered numbers are being posted as received.
