Warriors Fashionably Fast at MHSAA State XC Final

Grass Lake High School cross country runner Kailee Sandoval finished ninth at the Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 3 state finals on Saturday at Michigan International Speedway.  Photo by Jeff Steers, JTV Sports. By Jeff Steers JTV Sports (November 9, 2020 5:45 PM) Navy blue tops and navy blue bottoms didn’t make much of a fashion statement by the Grass Lake High School varsity girls’ cross country team. The Warriors needed something to match the team’s various outgoing personalities. So, members of the Grass Lake High School varsity cross country team decided to mix it up for the Michigan High School Athletic Association state finals. The seven runners from GLHS wore pink shorts and ribbons in their hair for a different look at Michigan International Speedway on Saturday at the state finals. Fans were also restricted to the grandstands, items like tents (where people would congregate) were banned, and teams had a checkout and check-in times. Here is a listing off all of the Jackson Country runners who participated in the two-day event. D-1 Tyler Lowery of Jackson High School shook off a COVID-19 scare on Monday and placed 135th in the Division 1 race on Friday. He finished the 5K course in…
