(December 18, 2024 8:44 PM ET) Jackson District Library's Hanover Branch, currently located downtown at 118 W. Main St., closed this past weekend as library staff prepare to move the branch to its new building across the street at 137 W. Main St. JDL officials closed on the new property for $65,000 last December and have since worked to refurbish the space. The building, formerly Bombshells Beauty Parlor, will expand the library's footprint by roughly 425-square-feet and create a new multi-functional space to accommodate the growing need for community spaces and access to enhanced library services. JDL currently leases space from the Village of Hanover and operates the branch out of the village office building. In preparation for the move, library staff have organized a number of activities so local residents can acclimate to the new space and catch a sneak peak of the new building, library officials said. Earlier, a holiday open house featuring tours of the new location was held, the JDL Bookmobile paid a visit, and today a “book chain”…
