Huff Follows in Family Footsteps in Girls Basketball

By Jeff Steers JTV Sports (January 11, 2025 8:00 AM ET) Jackson  Christian High School basketball player Rennie Huff carries a little bit of her family heritage each time she walks onto the court. So far it is working for the JCHS junior. Huff is averaging more than 20 points, six rebounds, five steals, and shooting better than 50 percent from the field. She has helped lead Jackson Christian to a 5-3 record this season. “We are still young with two freshmen who start,” Huff said of the Royals. “We should be 7-1 as we let a couple of games slip away … we are better than 5-3.” Huff carries the name of her grandmother, Rennie, onto the court each time she is announced in the starting lineup. She is also the daughter of the JCHS Coach – Patti Huff – a former player for the Royals. Patti coached the Royals in the past, stopped for a few years, and started back up when the girls’ basketball coach resigned two years ago. “Sometimes it is hard separating basketball from home,” the young Huff said. “We spend a lot of time strategizing ways to battle our opponents.” Unlike some athletes, the…
