By Jeff Steers JTV Sports The Western High School girls’ varsity basketball team has been wearing t-shirts with one simple saying on the back … “unfinished business.” That starts on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Panthers defeated Battle Creek Pennfield 50-29 in the Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 2 regional semifinal on Monday. By Jeff Steers JTV Sports The phrases Hanover-Horton High School, wrestling, and championships have never been associated with one another. Until recently. The Comets won a district and Cascades Conference title with a win over Addison on Wednesday. Hanover-Horton defeated the Panthers 41-36 to claim its second Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 4 district title in three years. The district final match also served as a makeup for a Cascades Conference dual meet canceled earlier in the year due to COVID-19 concerns. With the win, Hanover-Horton tied Napoleon and Manchester high schools for the conference crown with a 6-1 record. The Comets defeated Manchester earlier in the season, Napoleon beat Hanover-Horton, and the Flying Dutchmen defeated the Pirates.
