The Lumen Christi Boys Track & Field Team appeared on The Bart Hawley Show following their Division 3 Lower Peninsula State Championship.
Selby Track and Field Classic to air next weekend on JTV
JTV will air the James R. Selby Track and Field Classic next Saturday and Sunday at 1pm and 7pm. Jackson High's Corey Pryor was named Male Outstanding Performer of the meet. He finished 1st in the 110 High Hurdles, 300 Hurdles and was a member of the winning 400 Relay. On the girls side, Kaniya Weatherspoon of Napoleon was named Female Outstanding Performer. Vandercook Lake Grad Part of Albion School-Record Relay Team
NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Justin Ware, Jeremy Shephard, Josh Lowe and Justin Meredith knew they were a clean race away from breaking the Albion College record in the men’s 4×100 relay. It all came together May 15 as the Britons sailed to a time of 41.45 in their final race of the season at the Gregory Invitational at North Central College. The Britons forged a tie for the week when they achieved a time of 41.71 a week earlier. Lowe, a senior who prepped at Vandercook Lake High School in Jackson County, also achieved a personal record in the long jump. He reached 22’ 3 ½” to finish seventh. Mitch Clinton achieved a season-best time of 9:37.71 in finishing 18th out of 38 runners in the field for the steeplechase.

Spring Arbor’s Michael Darling Named NCCAA All-American Second Team
SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – Spring Arbor University men’s tennis player Michael Darling (Spring Arbor, MI / Western HS) has been named to the 2015 National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) All-American Second Team, as announced by the national office. Darling played No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles, with teammate Jesse DeBoer, all season to anchor the Cougar lineup. The senior from Spring Arbor, Michigan won six out of his final eight matches to lead SAU to three victories in the team’s last four matches of the year. For his efforts during that span, Darling was also recognized as the Crossroads League Player of the Week. “This is a great honor for Michael as a culmination of his tennis career,” said head coach Terry Darling. “He kept getting better all year at the No. 1 position in singles and doubles. He also provided great leadership on the team and reflected Christian character on and off the court.” In addition to his All-American selection, Darling was one of four Spring Arbor student-athletes to earn NCCAA Scholar-Athlete status.
