Selby Track and Field Classic to air next weekend on JTV

JTV will air the James R. Selby Track and Field Classic next Saturday and Sunday at 1pm and 7pm.  Jackson High's Corey Pryor was named Male Outstanding Performer of the meet.  He finished 1st in the 110 High Hurdles, 300 Hurdles and was a member of the winning 400 Relay.  On the girls side, Kaniya Weatherspoon of Napoleon was named Female Outstanding Performer.  She won the Long Jump, 400 and 200.  To watch online at the above times click here

Spring Arbor’s Michael Darling Named NCCAA All-American Second Team

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – Spring Arbor University men’s tennis player Michael Darling (Spring Arbor, MI / Western HS) has been named to the 2015 National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) All-American Second Team, as announced by the national office. Darling played No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles, with teammate Jesse DeBoer, all season to anchor the Cougar lineup. The senior from Spring Arbor, Michigan won six out of his final eight matches to lead SAU to three victories in the team’s last four matches of the year. For his efforts during that span, Darling was also recognized as the Crossroads League Player of the Week. “This is a great honor for Michael as a culmination of his tennis career,” said head coach Terry Darling. “He kept getting better all year at the No. 1 position in singles and doubles. He also provided great leadership on the team and reflected Christian character on and off the court.” In addition to his All-American selection, Darling was one of four Spring Arbor student-athletes to earn NCCAA Scholar-Athlete status.
