The Grass Lake Farmers Market is open today at Grass Lake Community Events Pavilion on Brown Street next to the Car Wash in Downtown Grass Lake.  Hours are 4pm to 7pm.   Grass Lake Music in the Park will take place from 6pm to 8pm.  Tonight’s performer is Jason Peek.  Grass Lake Music in the Park will take place on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month from 6pm - 8pm, through September 21st. The Jackson Downtown Development Authority presents the Grand River Farmers Market, today from 8am to 2pm.  The market, featuring seasonal farmers and other vendors is at Grand River Marketplace, corner of Glick Highway and Mechanic Street in Downtown Jackson. At the Ella Sharp Museum, Charting the Wolverine:  Works by Elaine Wilson is entering its final days.  Exhibit ends September 9 in the Pyron Gallery.  A series of prints created to map the Wolverine train from Ann Arbor to Battle Creek and on to Chicago. It is inspired by a 17th Century scroll map from Japan, the artist’s research into historical maps and atlases of Michigan, as well as her love of riding the train. In an age of GPS and Google Maps, this work takes us back to a time before digital media, while celebrating both the most iconic places along this route in southern Michigan, and the smaller, overlooked but still significant corners of our everyday experiences. Happy Labor Day Weekend! The Jackson Downtown Development Authority presents the Grand River Farmers Market, today and tomorrow from 8am to 2pm.  The market, featuring seasonal farmers and other vendors is at Grand River Marketplace, corner of Glick Highway and Mechanic Street in Downtown Jackson. The Jackson District Library offers Yoga at the Meijer Branch every Friday at 8:30 AM with Jeanette Lamphere. Suggested donation of $3. Intended for adults. Yoga at the Spring Arbor Branch of the Jackson District Library today and every Friday at 9 AM with Amy Reamer.  Suggested donation of $5. The Eastern Branch of the Jackson District Library has Yoga with Elizabeth Hall at 9 AM.  Class suggested for adults and seniors.  Suggested donation is $2. The Family Concert Series at the Cascades Falls concludes for the summer with tonight’s show.  This is a great way to spend a summer evening, enjoying the falls and great music.  Tonight:   Jason Peek & Kung Fu Diesel will have the amphitheater jumping with their rock, country, blues and R&B music.  The music begins at 7 PM.  Admission:  $10 per family. Experience Jackson will be hosting a rock painting station in the Experience Jackson office lobby.  You’re invited to stop in and paint a rock! The painting station will be open Monday-Friday and closes at 4:30pm. Paint a rock and leave it with us to dry, come back in about an hour and pick up your painted rock - then hide it, of course! The event takes place from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. This month we will welcome the 2017 Model A Round-Up. We will be welcoming 150 Model A's. They will be parked on Michigan Ave, N. The Jackson Symphony Orchestra Guild presents “Music & Memory”, a live music, film and Q&A panel discussion tonight at the Michigan Theatre.  The movie, “Glen Campbell I’ll Be Me” will be shown starting at 6:30 PM.  Doors open at 6 PM.  The JSO Guild is presenting this program to support its project to collect new and used iPods, Nanos and iPhones.  These will be used with those suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease, dementia or other chronic illnesses in our community.  The devices are loaded with music from the users’ era, provided to patients with headphones as a proven therapy of memory recall.  No admission charge, but donations are accepted.  Sponsored by the Michigan Theatre and Lloyd Ganton Retirement Centers.
