The Jackson Downtown Development Authority presents the Grand River Farmers Market, today and tomorrow from 8am to 2pm.  The market, featuring seasonal farmers and other vendors is at Grand River Marketplace, corner of Glick Highway and Mechanic Street in Downtown Jackson. Flea Market & Antique Show at the Jackson County Fairgrounds.  This event will take place inside & outside the fair event center. There will be free parking, food concession onsite, and thousands of items. Featured items at the Antique Show & Flea Market:  Antiques, Toy Dolls, Knick-Knacks, NASCAR, Glassware, Jewelry, Candles , Purses,Wood Carvings, Books, Coins, Tools and much more.   Admission: $3.00 per person, kids under 10 free.  10 AM to 5 PM Friday and Saturday. The Jackson District Library offers Yoga at the Meijer Branch every Friday at 8:30 AM with Jeanette Lamphere. Suggested donation of $3. Intended for adults. Yoga at the Spring Arbor Branch of the Jackson District Library today and every Friday at 9 AM with Amy Reamer.  Suggested donation of $5. The Green Market at Henry Ford Allegiance Health is open today from 9 AM to 2 PM.  Local, sustainable and organic produce and Michigan-made items are featured.  Located across from the main hospital building on East Michigan Avenue.  The Jackson County Chamber of Commerce is hosting at Ribbon Cutting at the  Cascades Humane Society today to unveil the new addition at 1515 Carmen Drive, Jackson, from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.  The addition, built by O’Harrow Construction Company, will allow Cascades Humane Society to house more animals and better serve the public.  CHS is celebrating their expansion with tours of the facility and new space. Light refreshments will be served. The Eastern Branch of the Jackson District Library presents Leonardo DiCaprio movies Thursdays in October at 2 PM.  Today’s movie is The Revenant (2015, R).  Free admission and free popcorn.  Intended for adults.  Widescreen and comfortable seats too! National “Coffee with a Cop” Day.  Join your neighbors and police officers for coffee and conversation on National Coffee with a Cop Day.  The mission of Coffee with a Cop is to break down the barriers between police officers and the citizens they serve by removing agendas allowing opportunities to ask questions, voice concerns and get to know the officers in your neighborhood.  The event is presented by the Jackson Police Department, Jackson County Office of the Sheriff, Blackman-Leoni Public Safety and the Michigan State Police.  8 AM to 10 AM at Jackson Coffee Company, 201 South Mechanic Street, Downtown Jackson.  Social Sound and the Michigan Theatre of Jackson present POST CHILD with special guest Jackson's own BRIAN TUCKER. POST CHILD, an alternative band from Chicago, is playing in Jackson at the start of a two-week tour that will take them to the East Coast and then back to Chicago. The Grass Lake Farmers Market is open today at Grass Lake Community Events Pavilion on Brown Street next to the Car Wash in Downtown Grass Lake,.  Hours are 4pm to 7pm.     This is the last Farmers Market of the season!
