Allegiance Health’s “Breakfast for Business”

JTV will have video coverage of Allegiance Health’s “Breakfast for Business” on Thursday’s Bart Hawley Show with guest host Mike Archer.  Here is an outline summary of this morning’s event by JTV’s Gary Binkowski. Breakfast for Business Allegiance Health “Merger” with University of Michigan Health System (UMHS) December 4, 2013 Allegiance Health CEO Georgia Fojtasek opened with a brief explanation for the rationale behind the proposal. Currently Allegiance Health (AH) has pursued a change from the pay for volume outlook on healthcare provided for the Jackson community to pay for value. Goal: To increase the health of the Jackson community. This cannot be done by AH alone Thus the backing of University of Michigan Health System (UMHS) Framework AH will become a part of the UMHS Both already work together on certain health services (i.e. radiation oncology) This will be a Non-profit transfer of assets No check, an expansion of both entities To better serve the patients and to adapt to the rapidly changing environment Goal: Patients receive the right care from the right providers at the right place and at the right time. This will allow AH/UMHS to take advantage of the best services of both entities AH has…

Chucky’s Week 8 Game Picks

Well, Chucky is starting a new life. No longer tied down to the stress and volatile nature of Michigan football (they’ll finish a brutal 7-5) or the anemic Tigers (who will lose in five games to Boston and continue to bemoan their pathetic offense) Chucky has vowed not to waste his precious time watching the local teams. Instead, he’ll turn his attention to something more important, like raking the leaves and losing ten pounds. MANCHESTER @ MICHIGAN CENTER: The #3 and #5 teams in this week’s power poll collide. More importantly, we finally learn the answer to that age old question: What is more intimidating: A rickety old ghost ship from beyond? Or a really ticked off cardinal? PICK: MANCHESTER WESTERN @ NORTHWEST: We’re all Panthers this week after Western lost one of their own over the weekend. “When you are sorrowful, look again into your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.” – Kahlil Gibran. PICK: WESTERN HOLT @ JACKSON: The Rams arrive in town early and settle in for a pre-game meal at Ichiban Japanese Steakhouse, afterwards they buy up the remaining dvd’s from the closing Blockbuster…

Lumen Christi wins Promise Bowl 43-14 over Jackson

Larry Jacobson JTV Sports Some important questions were answered Friday night at Withington Community Stadium at the 2013 Promise Bowl between Jackson High and Lumen Christi. #1) - Lumen Christi is much more than just junior running back Khari Willis. #2)- The Jackson Vikings are a team on the rise if they play each game with the same grit and determination they displayed through four quarters in this one. In the end, Lumen Christi captured its second straight Promise Bowl Championship with a 43-14 win in front of a packed house, but this one wasn’t the route many expected. And it was closer than the final score indicated. The Titans struck first on a pair of touchdown runs from the junior, Willis, covering 9 and 37 yards to open a 14-0 lead. But unlike past teams, perhaps, Coach Scott Farley’s first Vikings squad dug in and punched back. Jackson quarterback Javon Greca, who showed remarkable poise all night running the Viking offense, scrambled out of trouble and hit Alex Carter on a short touchdown pass. Greca then connected with Ray Robinson for the 2-point conversion, and suddenly the would-be route was a 14-8 ballgame. The Vikings also had a long…
