Mother Nature may have been the overall winner Friday at the 2019 Western Invitational at Arbor Hills Golf Club in Jackson.
Temperatures in the mid-40, some light rain and cold greeted golfers Friday morning.
Marshall High School won the event with a four-man total of 318. The Redhawks are ranked No. 3 in Division 2 as ranked by coaches.
Host school Western finished second (322), Hanover-Horton placed third (328), Lumen Christi was fifth (333) and Jackson placed sixth (336).
Concord finished ninth (353), Western B finished 12th (367), Northwest was 13th (386), and Grass Lake placed 16th (412).
Eighteen team competed in the annual event hosted by Western High School.
Brett Casto of Western and Brogan Brockie of Hanover-Horton tied for medalist honors with three other golfers with a 3-over-par 75.
Jack Brockie of Hanover-Horton and Louis Redovich of Western tied for fifth with a 76, Sean Vann of Western was seventh (77), Tanner Schnell of Lumen Christi was eighth (78), and Conor Spencer of Lumen Christi and Logan Hilder of Northwest shot 79 to tie for 10th.
Western golfers Jon Shaw (82) and Brett Potter (88) rounded out the team score for the Panthers.
Kyler Rod (85) and Thomas Deliyanne (92) scored for Hanover-Horton.
Matthew Saunders and Owen Campbell shot 88s for Lumen Christi.
Jackson was led by Justin Bunch with an 80 and Colin Glick with an 82.
Concord player Bryan Smith shot an 83 and Noah Pegg of Grass Lake led the Warriors with a 90.
