BASEBALL

Columbia Central 13, Leslie 2: Taylor commit Conor Rentfrow had a day in the blowout win in game one. Rentfrow hit two home runs, batted 4-4 and added 7 RBIs, he was also the starting pitcher and struck out five batters in three innings. Hayden Haynes added three hits, CC batted 13 total hits in the game.

 

(5 inn.) Columbia Central 11, Leslie 6: Lukas Calhoun led the way in game two for the Golden Eagles, batting 2-3 with 5 RBIs. Conor Rentfrow and Blayden Steller each added two hits, and Chase Dukate earned the pitching win. CC improves to 3-1 overall to start the season.

 

Michigan Center 5, Vandercook Lake 4: The Cardinals took game one in dramatic fashion, Levi Layher walked it off with an RBI double in the 7th inning to win it for MC. Layher led the lineup, batting 4-4 with 3 RBIs.

 

(6 inn.) Michigan Center 7, Vandercook Lake 0: Hadyn Hinkle led the Cardinals with two hits, Landon Sharp struck out three batters in two innings pitched.

 

Grass Lake 9, Homer 0: The Warriors collected just five hits in game one, but pitched a no-hitter between the three pitchers for GL. Five different players each batted a hit for the Warriors, and Manny Schafran added 2 RBIs.

 

Grass Lake 13, Homer 0: GL pitched another shutout in game two, with Manny Schafran earning the pitching win with 7 strikeouts and just one hit allowed. Luke Guthrie and Gavin Killinger each added two hits and two RBIs.

SOFTBALL

Columbia Central 19, Leslie 1: CC dominated both games on the road on Tuesday, winning both by mercy rule after five innings. Kelsey Fausz, Gabby Gaydosh, Rylee Knapp, and Camden Knapp all batted three hits each. Hailey Wetherby dominated in the circle, pitching 12 strikeouts and allowing just two hits.

 

Columbia Central 16, Leslie 1: 8 of the 9 in the lineup batted a hit for the Golden Eagles in game two. Rylee Knapp batted three hits, and Hailey Wetherby added two hits with four RBIs.

 

Grass Lake 12, Homer 2: Morgan Conrad dominated game one to lead the Warriors, batting 3-4 with 3 RBIs, plus pitching a complete game with 10 strikeouts. Addalynn Hensen added two hits with two RBIs.

 

Grass Lake 8, Homer 3: The Warriors scored five runs in the 6th inning to pull away and sweep the cascades doubleheader. Five different players combined for their five hits.

Morgan Conrad (11) dominated in game one to lead the Warriors, batting 3-4 with 3 RBIs, and pitching a complete a game with 10 strikeouts. Grass Lake at Western Softball, 4-6-26.
