Boys Basketball

Napoleon 48, Vandercook Lake 33: Tyler Nall finished with 26 points and Gavin Davis added 13 points for Napoleon. Vandercook Lake was led by Chris Jimenez with 21 points.

Leslie 54, Jonesville 50: The Blackhawks won the Cascades Conference crossover contest Thursday night. Conner Marciniak scored 19 points and Jackson Fossitt added 13 points for Leslie.

Girls Basketball

Concord 67, Springport 54: Four players scored in double digits for Concord led by Cieara Barrett and Grace Thorrez with 18 points apiece. Bradie Lehman scored 16 points and Hannah Stimer added 11 points for Concord (16-4 overall, 12-1 Big Eight). The Yellow Jackets remain tied for first place in the conference.

Hillsdale Academy 36, Jackson Christian 30: Rennie Huff scored 21 points and Ella Boll added 15 rebounds for the Royals.

Gymnastics

South Central Gymnastics League final: Western High School won its first conference gymnastics title in 25 years winning the final Thursday night. Emma Paquin finished fourth in the all-around with 34.400 points. She finished second on the vault (8.9) and third on the floor exercise (8.85). The Panthers finished with a team score of 133.450 to edge Tecumseh (133.375) and Jackson Area Gymnastics (132.075). JAG finished second overall in the conference after having won the conference for four consecutive seasons. Remi Taylor finished second on the beam (9.050) and fifth in the all-around for JAG. Teammate Claire Kalahar was sixth in the all-around scoring 32.650. Columbia Central gymnast Bella Janiga won the vault (8.95), the bars (8.80), and the all-around (35.80) performing for Tecumseh.

Swimming

Jackson 109, Tecumseh 76: Anthony Kulka won the 50-yard free (24.74) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:12) for Jackson. Colin Moran took first in the 100-yard free (53.05) for Jackson.

College Athletic Events

Men’s Basketball

Spring Arbor 88, Goshen 68: Gabe Newhof scored 30 points or more for the third time this season in the win. He finished with 30 points, Kevyn Robertson added 14 points., Dante Flavor scored 13 points, and Travis Grayson tallied 11 points for SAU. The Cougars are now 16-9 overall, 8-7 in Crossroads League play.

Women’s Basketball

Spring Arbor 84, Goshen 56: Alana Nelson and Sydney Aunins scored 19 points apiece and Alayna Kuleza added 12 points for SAU. The Cougars improved to 17-8 overall, 10-5 in Crossroads League action.
