Columbia Central 50, Northwest 43: Derek Sanders scored 21 points and Jack Gorton added 13 points for the Golden Eagles. Jalen Jordon scored 27 points to lead NWHS.

Stockbridge 47, Concord 43: Connor Stevens scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds for Concord. Darrell Dean added nine points and Jet Smith scored seven points for Concord (11-8 overall, 7-4 conference).
Hanover-Horton 52, Jonesville 50: Luke Soper scored 13 points and pulled down 11 rebounds and J.J. Russ added 11 points for Hanover-Horton. Brodey Bialley and Braylon Sayles each scored eight points for the Comets.
Jackson Christian 48, North Adams-Jerome 34: Christian Guerrero scored 20 points as Jackson Christian erased a halftime deficit at home Friday. Aaden Breton and Nate Locke each scored nine points for the Royals.
Jackson 43, Ypsilanti 41: Berkley Drummond scored 12 points and Jayden Ross and Jaiden Ramirez each scored nine points for Jackson.
Leslie 48, Napoleon 37: Leslie High School jumped out to a 16-5 lead in the first quarter. Conner Marciniak scored 11 points for Leslie. Tyler Nall tallied 19 points for Napoleon.
Bronson 68, Springport 43: Hunter Miller scored 13 points and Tucker Wiginton added eight points for the Spartans.
Harper Creek 65, Western 35: Harper Creek is now tied for first place in the Interstate Eight conference battle with a 7-2 record. Western is 7-9 overall following the loss.
Girls Basketball
Grass Lake 58, Michigan Center 45: Kate Starkey, pictured above, becomes Grass Lake’s all-time leader scorer surpassing Abrie Cabana with 1,512 points. Starkey scored 17 points and dished four assists in the win for Grass Lake. Reese Lape enjoyed another double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds and Mya Viegelahn added nine points and five rebounds for the Warriors. Michigan Center is now 14-2 – with both losses to Grass Lake – and was led by Hailey Mees with 10 points and Kara Straub with eight points and 12 rebounds.

Competitive Cheer
Columbia Central Invitational: The 12th annual Cheer for Charity Invitational was won by Onsted with 752. Columbia Central finished second (625) and Northwest third (594) in the upper division. Jonesville won the Division 4 competition (632), Addison was second (610), Grass Lake finished fourth (586), Vandercook Lake placed fifth (585), Springport was sixth (574), Napoleon placed seventh (556), and Concord was ninth (523). The event raised nearly $900 for a local women’s organization.
Boys Bowling
Coldwater 18, Northwest 12: Bode Rush and Thomas Dodson-Tooley each rolled 362 series for the Mounties.
Girls Bowling
Coldwater 17, Northwest 13: Serissa Meyers scored a 313 and Lacey Wenman rolled a 312 to lead Northwest.

Division 2 at B.C. Harper Creek: Top four wrestlers moving to the regional round include: Shea Haehnle of Jackson won the title at 175 pounds, Adam Carlson of Western was second, and teammate Josh Corts was fourth; Harland Begg of Marshall won the title at 285 pounds, Aidyn Williams for Northwest finished third, and Curtis Winters of Jackson placed fourth; Thomas Fall of Northwest finished third at 126 pounds; Evan Beuerle of Northwest finished fourth at 132 pounds; Zander Resor of Jackson was third and Sukham Singh of Western fourth at 144 pounds; Jack Edwards of NWHS was third at 150 pounds; Juan Asta of Northwest was second and Dexter Videto placed fourth at 157; and Titan Parker of Western finished fourth at 165 pounds. Qualifiers move to the Division 2 individual regional tournament at Richland Gull Lake next Saturday.

Division 4 at Dansville: Top four wrestlers moving on to the individual regional next Saturday are: Leo Swager of Lumen Christi who finished third at 175 pounds; Austyn Hocter of Hanover-Horton won the district title at 190 pounds and Hayden Rhinehart of Lumen Christi who was third; Reed Matthews of Hanover-Horton was fourth at 285 pounds; Travor Ohm of Addison finished as district champ at 113 pounds, A.J. Lusby of Hanover-Horton was third, and Camryn Davis of Addison fourth in the weight class; Caden Olsofsky of Addison and teammate Landin Leffew of Addison were second and fourth respectively at 120 pounds; A.J. Fielder of Hanover Horton was second and Caleb Potts of Addison third at 132 pounds; Gavin Berkeypile of Hanover-Horton was fourth at 144 pounds; Julius Farrell of East Jackson finished fourth at 150 pounds; and Joe Clark of Addison and James Hart of Lumen Christi were first and third respectively at 165 pounds. Qualifiers will travel to Leslie next week for the individual regional tournament along with wrestlers from the Manchester district. The top four at regionals qualify for the MHSAA state finals at Ford Field starting Feb. 28.
Division 4 at Bellevue: Top four qualifiers advance to the Martin regional along with Lawton qualifiers. Qualifiers were: Mason Thurber and Brody Birchfield of Springport at 106 pounds; Shamus O’Hearon of Springport was second at 113; Owen Thomas of Springport finished second at 120 pounds; Jacob Potter of Springport placed third at 126 pounds; Nate Fritz of Concord finished third at 132 pounds; and Kaden Sizemore of Springport placed third at 150 pounds.
Competitive Cheer
Hudson Tri-County Invitational: Michigan Center won the Jackson County competition with a score of 740. Northwest was second (647), Columbia Central placed third (631), Grass Lake was fourth (623), and East Jackson fifth (547). Onsted won the Lenawee County event with a top score of 754 and Addison was fourth scoring 608. Hillsdale won the Hillsdale County events scoring 676.
Hockey
Jackson United 7, Lenawee United 2: For the second time in a week Jackson United defeated Lenawee United in hockey. Wyatt Boteler and Peyton Paquin both scored a pair of goals for Jackson in the road win. Tyler Dwyer, Brennan Forward, and Nick Baumgardner also scored for JU. Dylan Foster finished with 38 saves for Jackson in goal.
Lumen Christi 8, Allen Park 0: The Titans won easily at home Saturday night.
Gymnastics
Coldwater Invitational: Jackson Area Gymnastics took second place scoring 135.625. Ava Gaston of Lumen Christi finished second on the bean (8.975) and fourth in the all-around (33.825) for JAG.

Men’s Basketball
Taylor 83, Spring Arbor 72 (OT): The Cougars were outscored 14-2 in the overtime period. Travis Grayson scored 22 points, Gabe Newhof added 20 points, Kevyn Robertson finished with 15 points, and Dante Favor tallied 11 points for SAU (15-8, 7-6 CL).
Wayne County 57, Jackson College 49: Savonn Campbell scored 17 points and pulled down eight rebounds in a road loss at Wayne County. Tareek Galadima scored nine points and Bobby Roberts and Joshue Christian added eight points apiece for Jackson College (3-20 overall, 1-8 MCCAA). Jackson College hosts St. Clair County Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
Women’s Basketball
Spring Arbor 77, Taylor 62: Alana Nelson scored 22 points and Megan Zeitz added 18 points in the win. The Cougars outscored Taylor 21-8 in the second quarter to pull away. They are 16-8 overall, 9-5 in Crossroads League action.
Jackson College 94, Wayne County 48: Michelle McGee scored 24 points and created seven steals for Jackson. Kaylona Butler scored 22 points and Zoie Bamm added 18 points and 15 rebounds. The Jets host St. Clair County Wednesday beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Bowling
SAU hosts Scott Classic: Spring Arbor University won the women’s event and was second in the men’s tournament. Owen Williams rolled the first 300 game for Spring Arbor University during actual competition.
Jackson College at MCCAA: Jackson College finished first in the women’s event and second in the men’s MCCAA Tournament. Abby Gutowski was first in the women’s event averaging 205, Haley Wallace was second 665), Mikayla DeBoe was third (586), and Chloe Maniford was seventh (564). Maniford and Sydney Nichols won the double competition by 153 pins. Mason Keen was second in the singles (702), Charlie Porter was eighth (624), and Tobyn LePeak 15th (621). Earning all-conference honors for the men were Keene and Porter and for the women Gutowski, Manifold, and Nichols. Jackson College competes in the Region XII Championship at Royal Scot Bowling Center next Friday beginning at 9 a.m.

Wrestling
Girls Wrestling Individual District Tournament at Dundee: Jackson area teams are scheduled to compete in the 48-team district at Dundee. The top four wrestlers in each weight class advance to the Chelsea regional the following weekend with a chance to advance to the state finals. Columbia Central, Concord, East Jackson, Grass Lake, Hanover-Horton, Jackson, Lumen Christi, Napoleon, Northwest, Springport, and Western are scheduled to compete in the district.
