Division 2 at Columbia Central
District Final – Chelsea 46, Western 44: Western High School finishes the season with an 11-13 overall record.
Division 3 at Hanover-Horton
District Final – Lumen Christi 69, Hanover-Horton 66 (2OT): The Titans advance to the Ithaca High School regional Tuesday playing Stockbridge at 7 p.m. John Wallbaum led Hanover-Horton with 16 points, Luke Soper scored 15 points and pulled down 16 rebounds, Braylon Sayles tallied 13 points, and Brodey Bially finished with 12 points.

Division 3 at Dansville
District Final – Stockbridge 56, Springport 18: The Spartans finish the season with a 14-10 record.
Division 4 at Concord
District Final – Concord 60, Hillsdale Academy 32: Concord High School won its first district championship since 2002 Friday night against Hilldale Academy. Jett Smith led the way with 19 points, Darrell Dean Jr. added nine points, and Jordan Medellin tallied eight points for Concord. The Yellow Jackets face Colon Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Mendon High School.

College Athletic Events
Women’s Basketball
Mid Michigan 85, Jackson College 75: Jackson College lost in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association state semifinal at Lansing College Friday. Michelle McGee scored 21 points, Kaylona Buter added 17 points, Zoie Bamm finished with 15 points and 12 rebounds, and Emily Carbajal scored 12 points for the Jets. Jackson faces Lakeland Community College Friday at Mott Community College at 11 a.m. in the Great Lakes C district semifinal.
Saturday Events
Boys Bowling State Individual Finals
Division 3 at JAX 60, Jackson: Ethan Rose of Napoleon and Logan Torcolacci of Grass Lake finished seventh and eighth respectively after qualifying. Rose finished with 1,274 during qualifying and Torcolacci finished with 1,266. Both lost in the first round of the stepladder portion of the tournament.
Division 4 at Northway Lanes, Muskegon: Adam Delano of East Jackson High School finished fourth during qualifying scoring 1,209. He won the opening round 354-342 but lost in the quarterfinals – earning a top eight medal.
Girls Bowling State Individual Finals
Division 2 at Century Bowl, Waterford: Casey Jahr of Northwest finished 50th scoring 932 for six games.
Division 3 at JAX 60, Jackson: Marielle Schafran of Grass Lake finished fourth during the qualifying portion of the tournament. She scored 1,185 for six games at JAX 60. Schafran won her first match 337-314 but lost in the quarterfinals. She earned a state medal for finishing in the top eight in the tournament.
Division 4 at Northway Lanes, Muskegon: Elayna Losey of Lumen Christi finished 26th scoring 935.
Gymnastics Regional
Jackson Area Gymnastics, Western at Rockford: Jackson Area Gymnastics finished second with 136.3 points and Western fourth tallying 135.55 at Rockford. The top three teams earned a trip to the state meet next weekend at Grand Rapids. Emma Paquin finished fourth in the all-around scoring 35.125 and Avah Gaston of Jackson was seventh scoring 33.725. Paquin was fourth in the floor (9.3), fifth on the beam (8.7), sixth on the bars (8.225), and Hannah Whiting was fourth on the vault (9.05).
Tecumseh (CCHS) at Salem-Canton: Tecumseh finished seventh scoring 131.675.
College Athletic Events
Bowling
Jackson College at NJCAA National Championship: Jackson College finished third at Buffalo, New York, in the National Junior College Athletic Association’s National Championships. Mikayla DeBoe earned All-American honors with her third-place finish in singles and second-place finish in doubles with Haley Wallace. The ladies also won the tournament’s sportsmanship award. Jackson College also finished 11th in the men’s tournament.
Jackson College women’s bowling team finished third at the NJCAA National Tournament.

Indiana Wesleyan 83, Spring Arbor University 62: The Cougars were outscored 28-6 in the fourth quarter to pull out the win. Alana Nelson scored 19 points, Alayna Kulesza added 11 points, and Megan Zeitz finished with 10 points for SAU (19-11 overall).
Baseball
Erie Community College 5, Jackson College 4: Jaxon Copas led the offense for Jackson with a pair of hits. The Jets were patient at the plate with eight walks in the game. Jackson also stole four bases in the contest. Sammy Bronkema gave up three runs in four innings on the mound for Jackson.
Frederick Community College 6, Jackson College 5: The Jets fell in college baseball action in Florida. Jaxon Copas had one hit and knocked in three runs for Jackson. Zach Grinde had a pair of hits and Deshawn Williams and Max Bowers each recorded a pair of walks for Jackson.
Spring Arbor 9, Goshen 4: Connor Dee finished with a pair of hits and four RBIs for SAU. Cade Heckendorn also recorded two hits for SAU. Colin Snyder picked up the win for SAU giving up only one run in 3 2/3 innings pitched.
Goshen 6, Spring Arbor 2: The Cougars gave up all six runs in the first two innings of the contest. Joey Tessmer of SAU had two hits and knocked in one run.
Softball
Spring Arbor 2, Siena Heights 1: Nicole Barbeau knocked in the winning run in the eighth inning for SAU. Tammy Craven earned the win in Florida giving up only two hits in four innings pitched.
Keiser 2, Spring Arbor 1: The Cougars could only muster two hits in the game in Florida.
Spring Arbor 7, Webber International 1: Spring Arbor earned a win in Kissimee, Florida.
