(4-25-2025, 7:00AM): Micah Cretsinger could join an elite club this weekend: an athlete from Jackson to be drafted into the NFL.
Micah Cretsinger, a 2019 Jackson High School graduate, has entered his name into the 2025 NFL Draft, taking place this weekend in Green Bay. Cretsinger has met with the Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, and New Orleans Saints at pro day workouts, after having standout collegiate seasons at Saginaw Valley State University.
Cretsinger is the number two overall non-D1 prospect in the draft this year. He was named a D2 All-American twice in his SVSU career, as well as 2x first team All-GLIAC and winning the GLIAC Defensive Back of the year.
Micah tied the NCAA Division II record in the 2023 season with four pick-sixes, just the fifth player ever to do so. He is also the only member of the SVSU football team to have played in every game during his career.
Cretsinger’s draft stock improved dramatically after having a record day at the NFL Draft Combine. He led with the most bench press reps (29) beating out prospects from the B10, SEC, and other major conferences. He also finished top five in the 3-cone drill and 20-yard shuttle.
The JHS alum could join just five other players from Jackson to play in the NFL, joining the legendary Tony Dungy, Khari Willis (LC graduate and MSU alum), Clarence Love (1998 4th round pick), Michael Hurd (1975, 13th round pick, 1970 Parkside HS graduate), and Jack Harris (1925-26 for the Green Bay Packers).
The 2025 NFL Draft takes place this weekend in Green Bay and is televised on ABC, ESPN, and NFL Network this Thursday-Saturday.
