Events of June 13, 2017

Kick off your summer with the Michigan Theatre’s Kiwanis Summer Film Series.  The “Just for Kids” movie series has a new format this year.  All movies are at 10am and 2pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays through the summer.  Today (and this week), the Academy Award winning film “Shrek” will be shown.  The series is sponsored by the Kiwanis Clubs of Brooklyn and Jackson.  Admission is $1.  Doors open one half hour before showtime.

Summer ballet classes begin today at Jackson School of the Arts.  Summer Ballet Classes in June for ages 3 and up. Each session is $27.  Register at jacksonarts.org or call 784-2389.  Classes are June 13, 20 and 27.  (Ages 3-4) 4:30-5:15pm;  (Ages 5-6) 5:15-6:15pm;  (Ages 7-9) 6:30-7:30pm.  There are more classes in July.

The Homer Trojans boys varsity baseball team is in the Michigan D3 Quarterfinals today.  Homer faces Schoolcraft today at 5:00pm at Hope College.

In girls varsity softball, the Napoleon Pirates compete in the Michigan D3 Quarterfinals today.  The Pirates take on Coloma at 5:00pm at Hope College.
