The Early Childhood Play & Grow Fun Fair.  2 sessions:  9:00 AM–12:00 PM or 3:00 PM–6:00 PM. Families can choose to attend whichever session is most convenient for their family.  At this event families can: Sign up for 3 and 4 year old preschool programs! Turn in paperwork for Head Start, PreK-for-All (GSRP), & Strong Beginnings! Learn about preschool options in Jackson County! Visit child-friendly vendors to learn about resources throughout the county. Enjoy many games and activities!  We hope to see you and your family at this FUN event.  Presented by the JCISD.  American 1 Event Center, Keeley Park.

Benjamin Moore Grand Opening Weekend and 70th Anniversary Celebration. Hammond Hardware is officially unveiling our completely renovated Paint Department — and welcoming Benjamin Moore to the family. This isn’t just a new brand on the shelf.  This is a full department transformation. And it’s the official kickoff of our 70th Anniversary Summer Celebration. Hammond Hardware. 1800 S MLK Dr, Jackson.  Friday 7 AM to 6 PM, Saturday 8 AM to 6 PM.  What to expect:   Official unveiling of our redesigned Benjamin Moore Paint Center,  Vendor Representatives on site,  Best paint deals of the season,  Doorbusters (details coming soon), Event-only raffle giveaways,  Room Makeover Giveaway (paint + supplies package),  Food truck or fresh grilled hot dogs and more!  70TH ANNIVERSARY GRAND PRIZE KICKOFF.  This event is your FIRST punch toward our Summer Grand Prize Drawing.  We will have major seasonal deals, vendor reps, demos, raffles, giveaways, food and more!  This is the beginning of our biggest summer yet!

Grass Lake High School Theatre presents Alice in Wonderland.  Let GLHS Theater take you on an adventure full of whimsey and magic in Wonderland as Alice meets the White Rabbit, the Mad Hatter, the Cheshire Cat, Tweedle Dee, Tweedle Dum, and many others. We can’t wait for you to join us on this magical journey; our cast & crew of 50 middle and high school students have been working hard and are looking forward to showing off their work for you! Western High School presents “The Music Man”. The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band that he vows to organize – this, despite the fact that he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian, the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain’s fall. Admission – $10 at the door.  Friday and Saturday at 7 PM, Sunday at 3 PM.

“Raise Our Voices”. 7 PM.  Center Stage Jackson presents a Cabaret exploring the power and responsibility of being heard.  The Theodore Event Center, 402 West Michigan Avenue, Downtown Jackson.  Friday and Saturday at 7 PM, Sunday at 3 PM. Tickets and more information here.

Auditions – DISASTER. We’ve added TWO more audition dates for Disaster! presented by Center Stage Jackson.  April 16 & 17 | 6:00–9:00 PM.  Jackson’s First Presbyterian Church, 743 West Michigan Avenue.  Production Dates: June 19–21 & June 26–28. On The Rocks Live at the Honky Tonk at Oak + Iron. 9 PM.  Friday night, we’re turning it up with On The Rocks bringing a killer mix of classic rock and country favorites to the stage. If you like your music loud, your drinks cold, and your nights just a little out of control… this one’s for you.  151 West Michigan Avenue, Downtown Jackson.

Jay Fry Live at Ironbark. 7 PM to 10 PM.  It’s always a great evening with Jay Fry (of the funky jam band Chirp) as he fuses soul into acoustic rock and indie tracks!  2610 Kibby Road, Jackson.

Bickel Brothers Piano Bar Night at Suburban Lanes.  7:30 PM.  Interactive piano bar experience at Suburban Lanes. Bring your requests, sing along, and enjoy the piano styling of Paul Bickel and drumming of Dan Bickel interwoven with humor and choreography.  3801 Ann Arbor Road, Jackson.

2026 PRTC New Works Comedy Fest.  10:30a (Doors Open at 10a) Continuing in our partnership with the Chelsea District Library, the Midwest Literary Walk will kick off with our 2026 PRTC New Works Comedy Fest! A hybrid event at The Purple Rose Theatre, this event will be in-person but can also be accessed online via a registered zoom webinar. The New Works Comedy Fest will feature a series of 10 minute plays by local playwrights. Purple Rose Theatre Company,  137 Park, Downtown Chelsea.  Register for in-person or zoom here.

Earth Day Celebration.  12:30 PM to 3 PM.  A free family-friendly event with loads children’s activities, hikes, and a beautiful setting in the Irish Hills.
