Rise and Shine.  7:30 AM to 9 AM.  New Districts, New Numbers, New Races.  After the 2020 census, new district lines were established for our State Senators, State Representatives and our representation in the US Congress. What do those changes mean for Jackson County in the upcoming elections? What part of the entire district is your neighborhood now? Who are the candidates in these elections?  Be a part of this informal event to educate yourself on these very significant changes and their dramatic effect on all of Jackson County, while having the opportunity to meet and talk personally with the candidates in the various races.  Vista Grande Villa provides the perfect venue and a delicious hot breakfast for this important opportunity for voter education and casual candidate introductions.  A full breakfast will be provided by Vista Grande Villa.  Chamber members $10, non-members $20.  Details and registration here.

28th Annual Learning Fair.  The Annual Learning Fair is free and provides enough fun for a day!  Friday hours are 10 AM to 5 PM.  Northwest Elementary School.  Free, hands-on family fun for all ages.  This event offers more than 80 hands-on activities in industry, technology, and the arts for all ages. These activities are provided by local companies such as MACI, Lomar Machine and Tool Co., Uniloy-Milacron, Make Yours, and the Shop Rat Foundation.  Activities include a petting zoo, fire truck and firefighters, police cars and officers, a moonwalk, hovercraft, catapults, and robots! Each company provides a great hands-on activity to share!  Don’t miss the shows too, including Baffling Bill the Magician and The Model T Experience.  JATA buses will provide free rides. Summer Food Service Program and Food Court available for purchase.  3757 Lansing Avenue, Jackson.

Grand River Farmers Market.  9 AM to 2 PM.   Farm fresh produce, crafts, and much more!  Grand River Farmers Market, corner of Glick and Mechanic, Downtown Jackson.

Concord Area Players present “The Music Man”.  Jackson District Library- Concord Branch.  Showtimes are 7 PM Friday and 3 and 7 PM on Saturday.  Buy your tickets here.

Redeemer Lutheran Church Rummage Sale.  Rummage Sale funds will be donated to St. Luke’s Clinic, a non-profit organization that receives no government assistance. They provide medical and educational services for adults who have no medical insurance or are under-insured. Friday 9 AM to 6 PM, Saturday 9 AM to 12 PM.  3637 Spring Arbor Road, Jackson.

JLG at Jackson Coffee Company.  John Louis Good returns to the Jackson Coffee Company on Friday, July 15th, 630pm-9 pm.  201 S. Mechanic Street, Downtown Jackson.

Wes Maharas at Ironbark.  Join us for the groovy sounds of Wes Maharas along with the Fresh Coast!  “Mixing themes of peace and passion with a unique blend of hip hop, soul, folk rock, blues, and reggae”.  7 PM to 10 PM.  Ironbark Brewing Company, 2610 Kibby Road, Jackson.

Late Night Fridays at Sandhill Crane.  Enjoy live music by Jay Frydenlund 6-9 pm with the kitchen open ’til 9:30 pm. Invite friends, family or have a date night!  Sandhill Crane Vineyard, 4724 Walz Road, Jackson.

Friday Night Out:  Hogwarts School of Mystery.  5 PM to 7:30 PM.  Jackson School of the Arts.  Our “Friday Night Out” events have been a great opportunity for local kids to get a variety of creative experiences and positive social interactions while parents get some time to themselves on a Friday Night.  This July 15th, wave your wand and poof, you will find your way to the wizarding world of Harry Potter. Journey with us through Hogwarts as muggles learn to dance and create art. Vandercook Lake Lions Club Cruise In.  9 AM to 2 PM.   The Vandercook Lake Lions Club will be hosting their 3rd annual LD & Pat’s Cruise-In and VCL Festival at the Vandercook Lake County Park from 9 am until 2 pm.  CARS, CRAFTS, CONCERT & KID ACTIVITIES.  Open to all years, makes & models.  $10 CAR AND RAFFLES REGISTRATION.  Music by “Railcar Graffiti” ( courtesy of Jackson District Library).  Children’s Inflatable Playground ( Jackson Free Methodist Church). The Library Bookmobile, Lions Club Kidsight Girl Scouts and Vandercook Lake Schools.  

Porkapalooza.  Center Stage Jackson’s fourth annual Porkapalooza is scheduled for 4-8 p.m. July 16 at 308 Brass Rail in Jackson. $10 ticket to taste all entries!  Includes 1 beverage (beer, wine or pop).  Musical entertainment by Alibi!  Silent auction and hourly prize drawings.  Help support Center Stage Jackson and enjoy great food and music!  308 Brass Rail, 308 West Prospect Street, Jackson.

Cascades Rotary Community Bandshell Concert Series.  7 pm at the Cascades.  Join us July 16th at the Rotary Community Bandshell to listen to Steve Berkemier! Enjoy some Rock, Country, and Folk music while mixing in strong original selection and personal stories.  Concert is free.

Public Planetarium Show: Destination Solar System.  The year is 2096. You’ve signed up for a quick trip around the Solar System with Space Express Tours! This out-of-this world jaunt takes place on board the fastest ship in the Space Express fleet and is the only vehicle equipped with Space Jump technology. In Destination Solar System, passengers will travel hundreds of millions of miles in just seconds on an adventure-filled tour. Tours of the hottest hot spots and the coldest, stormiest, and most spectacular sights in the Solar System await curious space explorers of all ages.  Price: $6 for adults ($4 for members), $4 for children, FREE for children under 5.  Time: 1:00pm & 3:00pm.  Location: Hurst Planetarium at Ella Sharp Museum.

Music in the Bowl:  Summer Music Series.  4 PM to 7 PM.  Join us for our community-wide event Music in the Bowl! The third Sunday of June, July, and August will bring out two local talents to our bowl for entertainment. Bust out the Lawn Chairs, bring the family, and enjoy an evening of entertainment. There will be popcorn and beverages available for sale. We are asking a $5 donation for the evening. This event will be rain or shine. If the weather is inclement, we will move it inside to our fellowship hall. What a great opportunity for some good old fashion family time while supporting the arts and our Church. We can’t wait to see you there!  Performers currently include The French Quarter Dixie Land Quartet, Steve Berkemeier, J.A.M.M., Dan Bickel and Greg Sauceda.  Arbor Grove Congregational Church, 2621 McCain Road, Jackson.
