40th Hot Air Jubilee.   Hot Air Balloons will fill the skies during the weekend with launches scheduled for Friday evening, Saturday morning and evening and Sunday morning, weather permitting, with fantastic ‘night glows’ in the evenings. Other activities include helicopter rides, a car show, Jeep night, and Kids’ Kingdom, free bounce house and inflatable obstacle course, night glows, and there will be Food Trucks and a Beer Tent.  Visit Hot Air Jubilee for more information!  All activities are at Ella Sharp Park.

Friday Schedule:

  • 6:30 – 7:00am – Good Morning Jackson Launch (Location TBD)
  • 3:00 pm – Hot Rods and Hot Air Jeeps at the Jubilee (Sponsored by Extreme Dodge)
  • 3:00 pm – Festival Opens – Entertainment Tent, Helicopter Rides, Food Vendors, Sponsor Tents and Official Jubilee Merchandise

Gus Macker Jackson.   The Gus Macker of Jackson will be back this July 21-23, 2023. The famous 3-on-3 basketball tournament’s world tour wouldn’t be complete without a stop in Jackson!  With activities for players and spectators, Gus Macker is a weekend filled with fun, family, and friends, making it a perfect celebration of basketball and community.  The public is welcome to come cheer on players, enjoy the game and music, along with other activities during this 3-day event in downtown Jackson.

Friday Event Schedule:  4:00-8:00 PM:  Registration at Jackson Symphony Orchestra (215 West Michigan Avenue).  5:00-9:00 PM:  Friday Night in the City.  Music on Michigan presented by the Downtown Development Authority.  Heroes Tournament presented by Southern Michigan Bank and Trust.  Teachers Tournament.  CLUBLIFE All-Star Game presented by CLUBLIFE and Orthopaedic Rehab Specialists.  Click here for the Gusette Event Program.

Grand River Farmers Market.  9 AM to 2 PM.  A community-driven market prioritizing fresh local produce and Michigan-only homemade & artisan goods.  Open Fridays and Saturdays, 9am-2pm throughout the summer into early fall. The Grand River Farmers Market is located in the parking lot of Grand River Brewery at the intersection of Louis Glick Highway and Mechanic Street. NEW: Rotating food trucks and music on select days. John Louis Good – The Rose City Troubadour, will be live at The Grand River Farmers Market in Jackson, MI on Friday July 21st, 11am-1pm.  Vendors, artisans, and performers.  117 W Louis Glick Hwy, Jackson.

 Vineyard Jams:  Friday and Saturday Music.  7 PM to 10 PM.  Join us this Summer for the return of our Friday & Saturday night music series: Vineyard Jams.  Every Friday and Saturday evening (Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend) from 7-10 PM on the Cherry Creek stage, enjoy some of the best bands in the area. From rock ‘n roll, to blues, and country and pop, there is something for everyone. Beer, Wine, Wine Slushies, & Cider.  Rotating Food Trucks.  Limited Cafe’ Menu.  Open to all ages. RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Watch Party & Drag Show Extravaganza.  7 PM to 10:30 PM.  Watch the Season Finale of RuPaul’s Drag Show All Stars Season 8 with all of your friends. Vote for your favorites on-screen and off with a live drag show to follow. Free to attend. Snacks and Mocktails are available to purchase. St. Stanislaus Kostka K of C  BBQ Chicken Dinner.  12 PM to 4 PM.  608 S. Elm Street, Jackson.  Menu:  1/2 Chicken BBQ/Plain, Baked Beans, Homemade Coleslaw, Dinner Roll and Cookie.  $15, Take-Out Only.

Swingin’ at the Shell.  6 PM.  Albion – FREE Music Concerts on Sundays all Summer Long.  Swingin’ at the Shell is an annual series of FREE music concerts, held each Sunday during the summer at 6 p.m. in Beautiful Albion, Michigan. Come out and enjoy a wide variety of sounds including Jazz, Soul, Rock, Brass, Big Band, Celtic, Piano, Funk, Blues, and more. The Victory Park Band Shell has plenty of room for you and your friends to have a great time!  BRING your lawn chair or blanket!  This Sunday:  Phillip Michael Scales.  Originally starting up as an independent performer writing and recording his own music, Philip Michael Scales focused on his own indie style bands early in his career. As his music progressed, he started to incorporate more blues style music into his repertoire. He calls this combo “Dive Bar Soul”, described as a bit of indie rock storytelling coupled with the passion of the blues. With impactful lyrics and powerful vocals, Scales is a fantastic original artist with a style that is approachable and appreciated by many.
