Grand River Farmers Market.  9 AM to 2 PM.  Corner of Glick and Mechanic Streets, Downtown Jackson.  Local farmers, fresh produce, crafts, plants, flowers, and vendors.

Jackson Downtown Days.  3 days of family-fun activities in downtown Jackson celebrating summer and sunshine!  Today, Cruise in and concert.  5 PM to 8 PM.  The concert features Blackstone Steel performing from 6 PM to 8 PM.  Join us for our free family-oriented event featuring cars on display throughout the streets of downtown Jackson and a live concert in True Community City Square.   There will be vendors including food trucks located at the intersection of Jackson St. and W. Michigan Ave.

Jackson County Relay for Life.  Jackson County Michigan Relay for Life Soft opening Friday at 4 pm. Opening ceremony and Survivor Lap at 6 pm. Closing ceremony Saturday at 2 pm.  All are welcome to attend this community fight against cancer.  Cascades Falls Park.  

Jackson Barber Company Grand Opening.  Come and celebrate our Grand Opening on Friday, 7/29 from 4 pm-5 pm!  We will have refreshments, giveaways, and a ribbon cutting at 4:30 pm.  Can’t wait to see everyone!  163 West Pearl Street, Downtown Jackson.

Gigantic Sale for Missions.  The Gigantic Sale for Missions is the community’s largest sale and spans from Thursday, July 28th, to Saturday, July 30th. Here, you can shop for clothes, furniture, home goods, antiques, and more! This huge sale takes place inside the walls of The Arbor Church and sprawls into the parking lot. Friday is “Bag Day” with only $2/bag of clothing, shoes, and bedding. On Saturday, everything inside is FREE! All proceeds go to local and global missions. We hope to see you there!  The Arbor Church, Main Street, Spring Arbor.

Rummage Sale.  1st Congregational Church of Jackson 120 N. Jackson st. will be holding its annual July plant, baked goods, and rummage sale on Thurs. July 28, 9 am until 5 pm and Friday, July 29, 9 am til 8 pm. Our $1 a bag sale will be held Sat. July 30, 9 am until noon. We have craft items(including yarn and material), all sizes of clothes 50 cents and up, shoes 50 cents and up, games, puzzles, linens, purses, books, household items, vacuum cleaners, microwave, toys, cradle, small tricycle, baby bed and misc.  Attic treasures,  jewelry, fancy glassware (great for crafts), frames, pictures, cast iron cookware, pyrex, corning ware, lamps, and much more.

Late Night Friday at Sandhill Crane.  6 PM to 9 PM.  It’s the LAST weekend of July! Let’s close out the month of July with an unforgettable Late Night Friday! Summer Reading Program Block Party.  Join us for the last hurrah of the Summer Reading Program! We’ll have a live DJ, performances by a pirate acrobatic troupe, a mermaid craft and more for the entire family to enjoy.    This event will take place from 1-4 PM Saturday, July 30, in front of the Carnegie Library.

Outdoor Bash at Grand River Brewery.  5 PM to 11 PM.  JP & The Energy take over Grand River Brewery’s Patio with assistance from Steve and Brian Tucker! Don’t miss this awesome outdoor summer event!  Tickets are $23 and include 2 GRB Craft Brews, Pork Sliders, and of course your entrance!  JP & The Energy Is a Modern Pop Band Based out of Lansing, MI. This is a young and fresh group playing modern pop music as well as the occasional throwback everyone knows and loves. We cover music from artists like Dua Lipa, Bruno Mars, One Direction, Panic At The Disco, Shawn Mendes, and much more!  John Patrick Peters (JPP) always seems to strike a chord with his virtuosic guitar playing and deep repertoire of energetic and modern pop music. Kids Triathlon and Family Fun Day.   9 AM to 3 PM.  Clark Lake Yacht Club, 1860 Eagle Point Rd, Clarklake.  No RSVP is required.  Free entry.  Triathlon (run, bike, swim) in 2 age divisions (up to 8 and 9 to 12yrs).  Adult kayak/canoe race, kids kayak race, kids activities, live music, Sticky Fingers Food Truck.  Please bring your own bike, bike helmet, life jacket, and kayak.

Summer Wine & Wool Festival.  10 AM to 5 PM. Sandhill Crane Vineyards.  After an absence of more than two years, the Wine & Wool Festival is back at Sandhill Crane Vineyards on Saturday, July 30! The festival features over 20 vendor booths in the winery’s meadow area and along the front of the winery. Find vendors from all around the Great Lakes region featuring indie dyed yarn and fiber along with fiber tools & equipment, raw wool, and some finished pieces (hats, shawls, etc).  The public is encouraged to bring their spinning, knitting, or other fiber work, and relax for the afternoon with a glass of wine and delicious food from the winery cafe. 4724 Walz Road, Jackson.

Concord Civil War Day.  Hubbard House Museum, 317 Hanover St., Concord.  11 AM to 4 PM.  Civil War Day and Americana include displays of early crafts – woodwork, ironwork, wool spinning, quilting, etc. There will also be outdoor cooking. The program starts at one o’clock with the posting of the flags, music, cannon shooting, a biography of a local Civil War veteran, and more!  FREE ADMISSION.

BikeAbility.  11 AM to 3 PM.  Come check out this FREE handcycling event for all ages and abilities. We will have a variety of handcycles onsite from Michigan Sports Unlimited for you to try. Adult and children’s bikes will be available. This opportunity is great for anyone with limited use of their legs, those with unsteady balance, or any that just want to give handcycling a try! Supporters will be showing the basics of a handcycle so NO experience is necessary. Jackson YMCA, 127 W. Wesley Street, Downtown Jackson.

 Cascades Rotary Community Bandshell Concert Series.  7 PM.  Join us on July 30th at the Rotary Community Bandshell to listen to Joshua Silas! He is a songwriter, guitarist, and multi-instrumentalist from Southeast Michigan playing a wide variety of genres. He will not disappoint!  The concert is free! 

Car Seat Check Up Event.  Learn how to install your child’s car seat or booster seat.  Find out if it’s time for a change.  Car Seats in South Central Michigan is hosting a free Car Seat Check event where nationally certified technicians will ensure children are in the correct car seat and help parents and caregivers install seats correctly.  Free replacement seats to qualifying Michigan families.  Center for Family Health, 505 N. Jackson Downtown Days.  3 days of family-fun activities in downtown Jackson celebrating summer and sunshine!  Today, Food trucks, craft vendors, live music, games and inflatables (11 am – 4 pm).  Two Soups are set to appear with Dan Bickel and special guests during Jackson’s Downtown Days event! Games, food trucks, and fun from 11 to 4.  Downtown Jackson.  

Disc Golf.  The Kiwanis Disc Golf Course at Ella Sharp Park is located in the southwest section of Ella Sharp Park along W. Hickory Avenue.   The 18-hole course takes players through a scenic area of rolling hills, grassy openings, and large shade trees. The course is free to use, and was designed to be assessable to players of all skill levels.  Disc golfers may rent a 3 disc pack for $5 per bag from the Ella Sharp Park Golf Course Clubhouse during operating hours. The bags are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.
