Spring Break at the Jackson District Library. Whether you’re in it to win it or just for the fun, get ready to play some games during Spring Break Week: March 24-April 2! Start at your local branch to pick up a scorecard and work toward your goal of playing all 13 games represented at the Jackson District Library – from board games to card games and everything in between. Visit 3 library locations to earn a prize, visit 7 locations to earn a second prize and visit 10 locations to be entered into a grand prize drawing for a bundle of board games. You can also complete a trivia sheet at any branch for a grand prize entry, no travel required. Will be starting our grand opening on Friday afternoon at the Jackson Westwood Mall (near Applebee’s). 517Drift hobby, tracks and more has the largest Rc drift track in Michigan! We are a hobby fun center that buys, sells and rents out Rc drift cars! We have 5 different cars for rent and limited stock for sale as RC drift cars are very popular right now! Rentals are $20 for 30min. We will have pizza, drinks and snacks for sale and we also have a driving simulator! DinoSOARS: Change over Time. Did you know? Birds are living dinosaurs! Follow the story of Malkia, a museum paleontologist, as she explores fascinating connections between birds and dinosaurs. Join us as we dive into the theory that birds evolved from dinosaurs! Wednesdays, Thursdays, & Fridays: 11:00 am and 4:00 pm. Saturdays & Sundays: 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm. Jackson Symphony Orchestra “Pictures at an Exhibition”. 7:30 PM. Potter Center. It’s an artistic extravaganza! The JSO presents works inspired by the visual arts including the famous Pictures at an Exhibition. You won’t want to miss our performance that opens with speed painter Evan Struck on stage with the JSO. Violinist Ida Kavafian performs Michael Daugherty’s violin concerto Fire and Blood inspired by Detroit murals by Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. The JSO also welcomes back Jeremy Crosmer for a world premiere inspired by the work of Jackson-born artist Philip Campbell Curtis. The surrealist painter’s work will be on display at the Potter Center through March. We close the concert with animation synced to our performance of Pictures at an Exhibition. You won’t want to miss a single moment of this performance packed with visual art! Join us for a free, interactive lecture before the concert at 6:30 pm. Tickets $20 to $35, and student tickets are just $5. Also, all attendees are invited to attend the AFTERPARTY! Munch on heavy hors d’oeuvres while mingling with the musicians and “who’s who” of Jackson and the surrounding areas. This afterparty is full of fabulous and down-to-earth people. The Michigan Theatre presents Onstage with Laith Al-Saadi. See Laith Al-Saadi in this rare close-up and personal performance. Only 100 seats on stage at The Michigan Theatre organized in a half circle around the stage. It’s close. This concert is the first of a series featuring Laith. On March 25, at 8 pm, Laith Al-Saadi takes the stage with acoustic guitar in hand. His incredible skills instrumentally and vocally will reinforce Laith’s progress toward legendary status. Doors open at 7 PM. Show starts at 8 PM.

Women of Space. 5 PM. Without women’s contributions in the science field, we would have never made it to the Moon! What better time to celebrate their accomplishments than during Women’s History Month? Guest speaker Jesse Yaeger, Ella Sharp Museum’s Archivist, will talk about the importance of gender diversity in male dominated fields. Bone Cleaning Demo Day. 12 PM to 4 PM. PaleoJoe will be at the museum facilitating dinosaur bone cleaning demonstrations for visitors as they view the Michigan Fossils & Ancient Creatures exhibit. You can stop and ask questions as he cleans, prepares and repairs real dinosaur bones that are over 65 MILLION YEARS OLD. Ella Sharp Museum.
Irish Hills Bombshells Roller Derby. 5 PM. IHB vs Mid-Michigan. Keeley Hall at Keeley Park, 128 W Ganson St, Jackson. Join this home opening bout as we kick off our 2023 season!. $12 at the door. A reduced ticket of $10 can be purchased at the door if you bring a donation of non-perishable food or paper products to benefit the AWARE shelter. Jackson Tuesday Musical Student Music Award Annual Fundraising Event. 3 PM. The well-known Hillsdale College Choir will present an enjoyable concert. Proceeds from the event fund Jackson Middle and High School scholarships. Admission is $15 for adults, $5 for students.
