Jackson College Summer Registration Begins. Register now for summer semester at Jackson College! Jackson College offers programs and classes are designed to fit many preferences and schedules, with personnel who are committed to student success. Students may choose from in-person or online options, with sessions lasting the full 12 weeks, as well as seven-week and five-week sessions. Summer semester begins May 9. Earth Hour Kits. Earth Hour is held every year on the last Saturday in March at 8:30 PM. People all over the world switch off their lights to show support for the planet. Stop by any JDL branch March 21-26 to pick up an activity kit with information about activities to do with the whole family during lights out, as well as information on other ways to support the earth. Available while supplies last.
Cultural Women Exhibit at Ella Sharp Museum. End March observing National Women’s History month by experiencing a beautiful tribute and memorial of Cultural Women in History. This pop-up exhibit, presented by Save Our Youth, will be on display March 20 – April 4, 2022 during regular Museum hours. Romantic Rachmaninoff. Jackson Symphony Orchestra Subscription Series Concert. 7:30 PM. Potter Center Music Hall. Join the JSO and internationally renowned pianist Inon Barnatan for a date night featuring some of classical music’s most beautiful works. The performance will include Rachmaninoff’s famous 2nd piano concerto, the piece that became his claim to fame as a composer and pulled him out of a years-long depressive phase. The program opens with Sibelius’s 5th symphony which praises the natural world. Of the 5th Symphony, Sibelius said “It is as if God Almighty had thrown down pieces of a mosaic for heaven’s floor and asked me to find out what was the original pattern. Vaccine, Microchip, & Testing Clinic. Cascades Humane Society, 1515 Carmen Dr, Jackson. 10 AM – 4 PM. Join us for a low-cost vaccine clinic! CHS is holding a low-cost vaccine clinic on Saturday, March 26th from 10 am to 4 pm. Appointments are every 15 minutes. Please make one appointment per pet you are bringing. We are also welcoming walk-in’s as well, and will be fit in around the appointments. What to Expect: Upon arrival, one of our volunteers will check you in. You will be asked to fill out a form of what services you would like, and we will accept payment ahead of time.
Free Tax Help. Now through early April, you can stop by the Carnegie Library computer lab for free help preparing your 2021 tax returns on the following days and times:

Saturdays: 10 AM – 1 PM

Don’t miss an afternoon of Concert Band Classics for All Ages when the Jackson Community Concert Band performs at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 27 in Harold Sheffer Music Hall, Potter Center. Selections for the band will include:“Sea Songs,” Vaughan Williams, “October,” Eric Whitacre, “March of the Resistance,” John Williams, “Children’s March,” Percy Grainger, “Selections from Aladdin,” arr.
