Events of Monday, May 31, 2021

Memorial Day Mass.  Memorial Day Mass will be celebrated at 9am on Monday, May 31st at St. John Catholic Cemetery, located at 403 E. South Street in Jackson. Bring lawn chairs for seating and practice social distancing as Mass will be held outside at the cemetery’s altar. In the event of inclement weather, Mass will be moved to St. John the Evangelist Church, located at 711 N. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive in Jackson.  Military funeral honors by local veterans will open the service, followed by Mass to honor those who died serving our country and all the faithful departed.

Jackson Memorial Day Parade. The Jackson County Veterans Council annual Memorial Day and Ceremony.  10 AM.  Parade begins downtown at Michigan and Jackson, proceeds Down Jackson Street, to Greenwood Avenue and ends at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery.  Memorial Day ceremony, including the laying of wreaths following at cemetery.

Spring Arbor Memorial Day Parade. The day begins with a service at 12 PM, followed by the annual parade at 1 PM.  Main Street (M-60).   Noon Service in front of the Spring Arbor Township Hall.1:00 pm NEW PARADE ROUTE:  Ogle to M60 east, to W. Gordon to Second Street back to Spring Arbor University.  Please maintain social distancing along the parade route. Spring Arbor Boy Scouts Chicken BBQ begins at 12 PM at Spring Arbor Fire Station.   

Clark Lake Memorial Day Parade.  8 AM.  Hosted by Clark Lake Lions Club.  The parade begins at the schoolhouse on North Lake Road and proceeds on Hyde to Township Park, pausing at the cemetery, then back on Hyde.     

Grass Lake Memorial Day Parade. The Service and procession start at 10 AM, beginning at the library, proceeding along Michigan Avenue to East Cemetery. Participants will perform a roll call of the servicemen and women buried there.

Concord Memorial Day Parade.  10 AM.  Beginning at Concord Middle School, proceeding to Maple Grove Cemetery for a service honoring servicemen and women.

Napoleon Memorial Day Parade.  11:30 AM.  Beginning at Napoleon Township Park and proceeding to Napoleon Oak Grove Cemetery.  

Brooklyn Memorial Day Parade.  Downtown Brooklyn.  10 AM.

Springport Memorial Day Events.  Ceremonies begin at the American Legion Post at 10:55 AM, followed by the parade at 11:30 AM.  BBQ Chicken Dinner follows the parade at the Post.
