September 23.

Grand River Farmers Market.  9 AM to 2 PM.  Shop farm fresh produce from local farmers, including vegetables, fruits, plants, and flowers.  Seasonal products including fall decor, pumpkins, craft and home goods.   Presented by the Downtown Development Authority.  Grand River Pavilion, in front of Grand River Brewery, corner of Glick and Mechanic Streets, downtown Jackson.

Downtown Cruise In and Concert.  6 PM.  This month’s Cruise In Concert features the incredible Big L and Code Blue.  Music is from 6 PM to 8 PM.  Popcorn and soda combo $3. Join us for our free family oriented event featuring cars on display throughout the streets of downtown Jackson and a live concert in True Community City Square.  The Cruise In runs  from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. There will be vendors including food trucks located at the intersection of Jackson St. and W. Michigan Ave.  

7th Annual Hunger Bowl.  Northwest vs Western football.  Come together to beat hunger.  Join us in our seventh annual Hunger Bowl during the Northwest Mountie vs Western Panther varsity football game!  Fans are asked to bring donations for local food banks to the event or to school buildings within the districts during the week of the game.  Mountie Stadium, Northwest High School.  Suggested donations include nonperishable food items like canned foods, pasta, rice, peanut butter, and cereal and toiletries such as soap, toothpaste and toothbrushes, shampoo, and toilet paper.  Monetary donations.  Please note:  Making a donation is an act of kindness – there will not be a reduced ticket price for the gam in exchange for donations.

Late Night Friday at Sandhill Crane Vineyards.  6 PM to 9 PM.  Late Night Friday w/ Live Music by Pinter Whitnick.  Sandhill Crane Vineyards, 4724 Walz Rd, Jackson.  We’ve had Kayleigh Slone and Alex Mendenall play solo here at the winery, here’s a chance to see them play live as their band, Pinter Whitnick. Look forward to an awesome night with these world travelers playing from 6-9 pm!

The Orbiters & The Fat Animals at Ogma.  6 PM.  Kick off fall with one final cruise-in night in downtown Jackson! We’ve invited in two of the best — The Orbiters and The Fat Animals — to bring the jam just outside of Ogma and amongst the newly painted Bright Walls murals!  Music starts with the Orbiters around 6 p.m. and will go through the evening ’til 10 p.m. or so. Free admission!  Ogma Brewing Co., 129 E. Michigan Avenue, Downtown Jackson.

Gunnar & the Grizzly Boys.  7 PM.  Gunnar & The Grizzly Boys Presented by: The Township & Village Police Association.  Michigan Theatre, Downtown Jackson.  Gunnar & The Grizzly Boys (GGB) have a name that rings true! A song that rang true, “Standard American!” And now they have an album of truly Good Rhythm…  GGB have fashioned a style that leader Gunnar Nyblad describes as, “Country music with a Michigan root.”  Information and tickets here.

Orthopaedic Rehab Specialists Oktoberfest 5K Run/Walk, 10K Run, Superhero Kids Fun Run.  The Annual Orthopaedic Rehab Specialists ORS Oktoberfest Run/Walk/Kids Run hosted by Grand River Brewery will start and finish around the Michigan Theatre. We are really excited to have the race in conjunction with the Oktoberfest activities that Grand River has planned and encourage participants to stick around post-race to enjoy those events.   With the true Oktoberfest theme, we have updated our prizing not only for the adults but for the kids run. Post-Race Breakfast will be provided for full registration participants (the tear away tab on the participant bib will be used as you ticket for the breakfast).  Live DJ Chere Pepper will be on site to provide music and help host both our race and the Beer Mile!   Special appearance by Jack the Elephant from Experience Jackson for the Kids Run!  ALL full price registered participants will receive a Grand River Brewery breakfast ticket and an ORS race shirt.  If registered after September 10, 2022 shirts will be distributed as supplies last. Be sure to preregister! There is no race day registration.  Packet Pick-up: will take place Friday, September 23 at Grand River Brewery between 4 pm – 8 pm – we will be stationed in the Farmer’s Market Pavilion.  Grand River Brewery’s Oktoberfest will begin that evening with Live music, Food and drink specials also within the Farmer’s market Pavilion!  Come by and pick up your race packet and stay awhile to enjoy Oktoberfest!  Registration and more information here.

Grand River Brewery 313 Polish Lager Beer Mile.  Grand River Brewery – Jackson.  Join us at Grand River Brewery in Downtown Jackson for one of our favorite events of the year.. the 4TH Annual Polish Lager BEER MILE!  What’s a beer mile? Chug a beer. Run a quarter mile. Chug a beer. Run a quarter mile. Chug a beer. Run a quarter mile. Chug a beer. Run a quarter mile.  Registration fee includes your bib, race time, and a 313 Polish Lager t-shirt.  11 am – Packet Pick Up and new registrations.  11:30 am – Start time for the Beer Mile!  Here’s our rules. No exceptions.  YOU MUST BE 21 TO RUN THIS EVENT**.  You will be REQUIRED to have ID with you when you pick up your bib. No ID. No running.  1. You must drink your beer out of a 12 OZ can of Grand River 313 Polish Lager that we provide.  2. You are REQUIRED to have a DD for the event. You will not be able to participate if you do not have a plan, you will not be able to drive home if you participate in the event.

Oktoberfest Concert.  Grand River Brewery.  HEATH SANDERS & JOSH KISER.  Country Boots & Bands, in partnership with Grand River Brewery, are excited to bring rising country music stars HEATH SANDERS & JOSH KISER to Oktoberfest on Saturday, September 24, 2022 for a LIVE MUSIC EVENT like nobody has ever seen in downtown Jackson. Join us as we convert the GRB parking lot into an outdoor concert venue for a special night of live country music with two of country’s newest risers.  DOORS AT 6 PM, MUSIC AT 7 PM.  Tickets and more information here.

Unveiling of Pet Memorial Garden.  3 – 5 PM.  All are invited to our Open House and Community Pet Memorial Garden Unveiling and Blessing. Light refreshments will be served. Blessing at 3:15 PM. The Memorial Garden was developed to offer families a peaceful space in nature where they can come to reflect upon the memories of their beloved pets who have passed on. Benches in the garden provide the perfect place to meditate and reflect. Beats in the Park:  Arts & Music Festival.  12 Noon to 11 PM.  The event is taking place in Downtown Jackson; TRUE Community City Square, Horace Blackman Park, and Bucky Harris Park. The music lineup is on two stages with overlaying set times that lets guests catch both music acts without missing too much of either one! With the stages being set on both sides of the event, gives everyone a chance to walk through the vendors.  Horace Blackman Park will be the main area for the vendors and the activity area for Yoga, Live Arts, and the Mac & Cheese Cook Off. There will also be an area for kids with face painting, bubbles, and playground equipment.  Food trucks, artists, and more!

J-DART Designer Purse Bingo.  Doors open at 4:00, and Bingo starts at 6:00.  Hanover Horton Historical Society Event Center, 121 Tefft St, Hanover.  Please join us for a night full of fun and support our mission of assisting first responders at the same time!

September 25

Acoustic Sunday with Mike Crupi.  2 PM to 4 PM.  Bring your guitar, bass, or play one of our keyboards to perform on our famous stage. It is a comfortable place to perform and try out your new songs or arrangements. Soloists are encouraged.  Admission is FREE!!!  Michigan Theatre, Downtown Jackson.

Board Game Sundays.  1:30 PM to 4:30 PM.  Come to the Carnegie Library Quiet Reading Room to play some board games or do puzzles every Sunday from 1:30-4:30 PM. The library will provide the games, you provide the fun!  This program is open to all ages.
