Singles Night – Winter Series at Sandhill.  5:30 PM to 8 PM.  Tonight:  Singles any age LGBTQ+.  Are you single and unsure where to meet new people, or know where to hang out? Check out the variety of dates in February & March fitting for your age group and preference!  Bring a single friend of the opposite sex to the event and receive 1/2 off a glass of wine, beer or cider!  All evenings are 5:30 – 8 pm with the café and bar closing at 7:30 pm.  Singles any age LGBTQ+ 2/16 & 3/9, Singles ages 40s & over 2/23 & 3/23, Singles ages 20s & 30s 3/2 & 3/30.  We had a fun evening with new friends at our first Singles Night. Carnegie Library Storytime.  10:00 am – 10:30 am.  JDL storytimes offer age-appropriate books, music, and activities for babies, toddlers, families, and young children. Most importantly, they help develop everyone’s imagination! Carnegie Library Storytime: Thursdays, 10 AM (ages 0-5).  Storytimes will run weekly. 

Spring Arbor Branch Storytime.  11:00 am – 11:30 am.  JDL storytimes offer age-appropriate books, music, and activities for babies, toddlers, families, and young children. Most importantly, they help develop everyone’s imagination!  Spring Arbor Branch Storytime: Thursdays, 11 AM (ages 2-5). K.J. the Corgi will join us for storytime at the Spring Arbor Branch each week!  Storytimes will run weekly.

Brooklyn Branch Storytime.  11:00 am – 11:30 am.  JDL storytimes offer age-appropriate books, music, and activities for babies, toddlers, families, and young children. Most importantly, they help develop everyone’s imagination.   Brooklyn Branch Storytime: Thursdays, 11 AM (ages 0-5).  Storytimes will run weekly.

Encounters and Light: Paintings by Sam Knecht.  February 15 – May 30.  The Ella Sharp Museum is proud to host a new solo exhibition of landscapes and portraits by Michigan artist Sam Knecht.  Knecht is Emeritus Professor of Art, Hillsdale College, teaching 1973-2020. Additionally, he is a Signature Member of the Portrait Society of America and the Michigan Watercolor Society.  His landscapes are plein air and studio creations, all in a naturalistic style. Portrait selections are non-commissioned depicting unique individuals who inspired creative interpretation.

Dinosaur Safari Exhibit at Ella Sharp Museum. Dinosaur Safari, an immersive exhibit for children and families now open at the Ella Sharp Museum. The nearly 2,500-square-foot exhibit features seven animatronic dinosaurs as well as hands-on stations that help children imagine themselves as paleontologists.  The incredible world of Dinosaur Safari features colorful and life-like dinosaurs, including the Triceratops and T. Rex!  In addition to the dinosaurs that move and roar, there is one climbable dinosaur for children to explore. Designed to immerse children in a world of dinosaurs and paleontology, children can play dress up in a safari tent, pretend to drive a safari jeep, and uncover large realistic fake fossils in two dig stations. The imaginative traveling exhibit is produced by Omaha Children’s Museum.  Open during museum hours.

Jerome Washington Pop-Up Art Exhibit:  Precious Moments in Time.  Ella Sharp Museum presents Precious Moments in Time: A pop-up exhibit featuring the art of Jerome Washington during the month of February.  Known to many as Mr. Washington the sketch artist, Jerome Washington has dedicated decades of his life to the community of Albion, Michigan through the vehicle of art. Drawing is not just a hobby for Mr. Washington it is his life’s passion!  Ella Sharp Museum.

Space Tonight.  4 PM.  Interested in keeping up with all the cool space happenings? Want to know what Nasa is up to? Does learning more about what’s in space, or how to look for cool things in the night sky intrigue you?  If the answer is yes, then our new show, Space Tonight, is for you! Space Tonight is an informational mash up of big astronomy news, events, and education. Show content changes monthly, so be sure to come check out it every month! Now Showing Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays at 4 pm. Adults: $10, children up to 17: $5, adults over 65 & military members: $8.  Museum Members and Children Under 5: Free.  Admission includes Museum Galleries and Hurst Planetarium Shows!
