Member Movie Night.  7 PM.  “Marcel the Shell with Shoes On”.   Marcel is an adorable one-inch-tall shell who ekes out a colorful existence with his grandmother Connie and their pet lint, Alan. Once part of a sprawling community of shells, they now live alone as the sole survivors of a mysterious tragedy. But when a documentary filmmaker discovers them amongst the clutter of his Airbnb, the short film he posts online brings Marcel millions of passionate fans, as well as unprecedented dangers and new hope at finding his long-lost family. A beloved character gets his big-screen debut in this hilarious and heartwarming story about finding connection in the smallest corners. From director Dean Fleischer-Camp and starring Jenny Slate (‘Obvious Child’) with Isabella Rossellini.  All members get in free every Thursday. Purchase a membership anytime for 30 dollars for an individual (per year), Non Members’ cost is $5. Doors open at 6:30 P.M. Film begins at 7:00 P.M. Michigan Theatre, Downtown Jackson.

Dinosaur Safari Exhibit at Ella Sharp Museum.  Dinosaur Safari, an immersive exhibit for children and families now open at the Ella Sharp Museum. The nearly 2,500-square-foot exhibit features seven animatronic dinosaurs as well as hands-on stations that help children imagine themselves as paleontologists.  The incredible world of Dinosaur Safari features colorful and life-like dinosaurs, including the Triceratops and T. Rex!  In addition to the dinosaurs that move and roar, there is one climbable dinosaur for children to explore. Designed to immerse children in a world of dinosaurs and paleontology, children can play dress up in a safari tent, pretend to drive a safari jeep, and uncover large realistic fake fossils in two dig stations. The imaginative traveling exhibit is produced by Omaha Children’s Museum.  Open during museum hours.

Carnegie Library Storytime.  10 AM to 10:30 AM.  Jackson District Library storytimes offer age-appropriate books, music, and activities for babies, toddlers, families, and young children. Most importantly, they help develop everyone’s imagination! Carnegie Library Storytime: Thursdays, 10 AM (ages 0-5).

Brooklyn Branch Storytime.  11 AM to 11:30 AM.  Jackson District Library storytimes offer age-appropriate books, music, and activities for babies, toddlers, families, and young children. Most importantly, they help develop everyone’s imagination!  Brooklyn Branch Storytime: Thursdays, 11 AM (ages 0-5).

Did an Asteroid Really Kill the Dinosaurs?  Did a space rock six miles wide slam into the Earth 66 million years ago and wipe out 75 percent of all living species at that time, including the dinosaurs?
