Exhibit Opening: Pathways of Patriotism: Exploring Jackson County’s Revolutionary Roots – America250.  12 PM.  Join the Jackson County Michigan Historical Society as they unveil Pathways of Patriotism: Exploring Jackson County’s Revolutionary Roots, a major new America250 exhibit commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States. This inspiring installation traces how the ideals of liberty, representation, and civic responsibility—first shaped during the American Revolution—continued to influence the people and communities of Jackson County across generations. The grand opening will take place on Tuesday, December 16, at 12:00 p.m. inside the historic Jackson Amtrak Station, the oldest continuously operating passenger station in the United States. Visitors will be among the first to explore this immersive exhibit, which highlights the county’s powerful connections to Revolutionary War veterans, abolitionists, early civic leaders, immigrant communities, and modern movements for democracy and civil rights. A brief program featuring remarks from local and state dignitaries will begin at noon, followed by an opportunity for guests to tour the exhibit, meet members of the Historical Society, and learn more about ongoing America250 initiatives in Jackson County. Food and light refreshments will be available, and the event is free and open to the public. All are welcome to join us as we begin this multi-year commemoration of our shared American story.
