Mekhi Wingfield of Concord High School set an 8-man state football record with 17 catches on Friday against Climax-Scotts. Wingfield finished with 17 catches for 143 yards and two touchdowns for the Yellow Jackets in a 28-26 loss.
Volleyball
Chelsea Invitational: Western High School went 3-0 on Saturday with wins over Ida, Grass Lake, and Chelsea. Kayda Herrick finished with 18 kills, DeAnna Barrett recorded 14 kills, Brynn Rogers added 42 assists, and Palmer Fortress tallied 28 digs for Western (3-1).
