The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids is continuing the FLOOD WARNING for Jackson County and the Grand River At Jackson until further notice. At 9:30 PM Tuesday the stage was 14.1 feet.  Flood stage is 14.0 feet.  Minor Flooding is occurring and Moderate Flooding is forecast.  Impact, at 15.0 feet…Expect moderate flooding of residences along High Street, Lewis Street, and Losey Street. High water would disrupt traffic and damage residences. Flood history, this crest compares to a previous crest of 15.1 feet on Aug 16 2016.  At 1030 PM Tuesday, emergency management reported flooding across the warned area. Up to three inches of rain have already fallen. Another half inch of rain is possible before the rain ends.

The area of precipitation that has been over our area since Monday afternoon will finally exit the area this morning. The precipitation will change to freezing rain, sleet and snow on the back edge for around two hours at any one location. Some minor accumulations of snow are possible.  A large high pressure system will track east across Michigan tonight into Thursday. This will bring partly cloudy skies and cooler temperatures.
