 (March 1, 2023 6:14 PM ET) Jackson Public Schools today announced the appointment of Greg Marsh as the new Athletic Director for the district.

Greg Marsh is a graduate of Parkside High School, Class of 1981. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Michigan in 1985 and earned his teaching credential in 1988. In 1998,  Marsh completed his Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology, Instructional Design, and Educational Technology from Michigan State University. He began his teaching career at Marysville High School as an AP Computer Science teacher and JV softball coach. Since then, he has spent 34 years in education (the last 23 years with Jackson Public Schools) as a classroom teacher and as a golf and baseball coach at all levels (6-12). Since 2019,  Marsh has served as the Athletic Director at Middle School at Parkside.

Greg and his wife, Beth, a Special Education teacher at Dibble Elementary, have two adult children (John and Libby – both attended Dibble Elementary, Middle School at Parkside, and graduated from Jackson High School).  Marsh is an elder and choir member at Jackson First Presbyterian Church. He is a longtime member of MACUL (Michigan Association of Computer Users in Learning) and a member of the MIAAA (Michigan Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association).

I am very thankful for the many coaches, teachers, administrators, and community members who have supported me and the work I have done over the years. They have all helped make my transition from a Parkside Eagle to a Jackson Viking a very enjoyable and rewarding experience! Go Vikings!”

Marsh will take over the role from Jack Fairly, who retires this spring.  Fairly served the Jackson Public Schools district as teacher, coach, and athletic administrator for nearly 37 years.
