The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has issued a FLOOD WARNING for areas of Southern Lower Michigan, including JACKSON COUNTY until 615 AM EST Thursday.  A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.   Another two to potentially 3 inches of rain is expected through tonight.  Rainfall rates may locally top a half inch per hour in  the heaviest bands.  Flooding conditions are expected to worsen into tonight.

An area of low pressure will track slowly through the Great Lakes Region through tonight. This system will lead to heavy rain for much of the area along with a risk for flooding. The wind will shift behind the departing storm later tonight…drawing in a colder airmass that will last into Thursday.

Today

Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Widespread fog, mainly before 7am. High near 64. South southwest wind around 18 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.

Tonight

Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Widespread fog, mainly before 9pm. Low around 38. South southwest wind 10 to 16 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.

Wednesday

Showers likely before 1pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 43. Northwest wind 8 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Mostly cloudy, with a low around 25. North wind 5 to 7 mph.

A slight chance of snow showers, mixing with rain after noon, then gradually ending. Partly sunny, with a high near 40. East northeast wind 8 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

A slight chance of snow showers and sleet before midnight, then a slight chance of freezing rain between midnight and 1am, then scattered rain and snow showers after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 30. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
