As spring break ends for most of the schools in the county it is increasingly important for parents to be aware of symptoms of COVID.  This is especially true of those who traveled during their spring break vacation.  The following symptoms of COVID-19 may appear 2-14 days after exposure. Anyone experiencing one or more of these symptoms should immediately quarantine away from others and contact a medical provider:

  • Fever
  • Muscle ache
  • Coughing
  • Headache
  • Sore throat
  • Runny nose or congestion
  • Shortness of breath or trouble breathing
  • Loss of taste or smell

Due to increasing case rates and variant spread in Michigan, MDHHS has reinstated a standard 14-day quarantine for close contacts of COVID-19 cases effective April 5, 2021. Please see theFrequently Asked Questions updated April 8, 2021 from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.

It is important for everyone to do their part to reduce the spread of COVID in the Jackson Community by doing the following:

  1. Get a vaccination as soon as it is available to you.
  2. Wear a mask covering your mouth and nose when in public.
  3. Frequently wash your hands.
  4. Maintain social distance of six feet between yourself and others when around others.
  5. Stay home if you are feeling ill.
