Friday October 16th

(10-16-2026, 11:30PM): Napoleon’s offense was on fire despite the sub-fifty degree temperatures as they dominated Leslie in the Week 8 Cascades conference crossover.

The Pirates received the opening kick and made quick work of their first drive scoring in 1:56 seconds on four plays, capped off with a 17-yard run from Richie Crane to take the early 8-0 lead. After a quick Blackhawk three-and-out the Pirates went on a longer scoring drive. Napoleon’s offense methodically marched 69-yards down the field in nine plays. Zavior Skog found himself in the end zone at the conclusion of the Pirates second possession up 16-0.

Napoleon subdued Leslie’s offense again, forcing a turnover on downs, and scored quickly once again, this time showcasing the dual threat ability of their offense. Skog scampered for 46-yards on three consecutive rushes, then Isaac Caroffino dropped back for a rare pass, catching the Blackhawk defense offguard, and found Jayden Servis uncovered in the middle of the field for a 27-yard touchdown pass to inflate the lead; 24-0.

Leslie found some footing on offense early in the second quarter and went on a 65-yard drive that ended in two chunk plays from Landon Craig. The first was a reception from Joel Cranmore for 13 yards and the second was a 19-yard touchdown run to get the Blackhawks on the board; 24-6.

When the Pirates got the ball back, they went on a two-minute drive that was ignited by another Caroffino deep ball. Crane was on the receiving end for 40-yards that set up Skog to score his second touchdown of the night, this time from 11-yards out. On the ensuing kickoff, the Pirates stole a possession via a short sky-kick that resulted in Leslie mishandling the ball and Napoleon recovered. After six plays, Skog was standing in the end zone for the hattrick, he scored his third TD of the night and Napoleon took a 40-6 lead.

The Blackhawks handled the next kick and Patrick Friese took the second snap to the house on a 53-yard touchdown run, cutting the lead to 28; 40-12.

With 2:18 left in the first half Napoleon stormed down the field to score for the sixth time of the half. Richie Crane darted 16-yards and his second touchdown of the night, giving the Pirates the 48-12 lead going into the half.

The second half consisted of two scoring drives, one from each team. Napoleon’s first drive of half two went 67 yards in five plays. The biggest play was a 37-yard toss from Caroffino to Mason Preece. Carson Warner then scored on a reception in the front corner of the end zone off the arm of Caroffino for the 56-12 lead. Leslie connected on a Cranmore deep ball late to Newland for a 58-yard touchdown, stamping a final score of 56-18.

The Pirates scored on each of their first seven possessions. Napoleon had 429 yards of offense, averaging over 9.5 yards per play compared to Leslie’s 252 yards, averaging six yards a snap.

Zavior Skog led the way for the Pirates with 187 yards and three touchdowns. Jayden Servis had 137 yards himself, 92 on the ground from eight carries and one reception for a 27-yard touchdown. Richie Crane rushed three times for 43 yards and two touchdowns alongside a 40 yard reception, tallying 83 total yards on four touches. The Pirate quarterback, Isaac Caroffino, was perfect, going four of four passing for two touchdown passes.

For the Blackhawks, RB Patrick Friese was the stand out, running for 153 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries.

Next Friday, October 23rd at 7pm, the Napoleon Pirates (7-1) will host Onsted (1-7). Meanwhile, the Leslie Blackhawks (4-4) will hope to end their three game skid hosting Buchanan (6-2).
