Jackson County to be well represented at MHSAA state wrestling finals

Jackson County will be well represented at the Michigan High School Athletic Association state individual wrestling finals starting Friday, February 28.

Wrestlers had to finish in the top four in their respective weight classes to advance to the finals.

Here are the four individual wrestling regionals involving Jackson wrestlers on Saturday.

Division 2 at Richland Gull Lake: Jackson County qualifiers are: Titan Parker of Western who was fourth at 165 pounds; and Shea Haehnle of Jackson was fourth at 175 pounds.

Division 3 at Olivet: Jackson County state qualifiers are: Carson Warner of Napoleon at 165 pounds; Andrew Beadenkopf of Michigan Center was second Zack Bamm of Napoleon third, and Shane Taylor of Columbia Central fourth at 175 pounds; Brady Warner of Napoleon won the regional title and Davion King was second at 190 pounds; Dallas Smith of Napoleon placed fourth at 215 pounds; Dylan Boone of Columbia Central finished second at 285 pounds; Izayah Scott of Napoleon placed third at 113 pounds; Brandon Rohde of Grass Lake was third at 120 pounds; Logan Hartman of Napoleon finished fourth at 126; James Cromwell of CCHS was third at 132 pounds; and Aiden Durham of Grass Lake won the regional title at 138 pounds.

Division 4 at Leslie: Jackson County state qualifiers are: James Hart of Lumen Christi who was third at 165 pounds; Austyn Hocter of Hanover-Horton was second at 190 pounds; and A.J. Fielder of Hanover-Horton was fourth at 132 pounds.

Division 4 at Martin: Jackson County state qualifiers are: Mason Thurber of Springport who won the title at 106 pounds; Shamus O’Hearon of Springport was third at 113 pounds; and Kaden Sizemore of Springport who was third at 150 pounds.
