Baseball

Jonesville 5, Columbia Central 0: Jonesville took game three of the Cascades Conference series with a home win. The Golden Eagles were limited to five hits including two hits apiece by Conor Rentfrow and Chase Dukate.

Leslie 10, East Jackson 0: The Blackhawks swept the series outscoring East Jackson 43-4. Conner Marciniak struck out 11 batters in earning the five-inning no-hitter. Hudson Phillips finished with two hits and two RBIs for Leslie.

Grass Lake 10, Michigan Center 4: The Warriors broke open a 4-all tie with six runs in the sixth inning from a game called for darkness Monday, Jack Reid finished with two hits and four RBIs and Sal Vitale and Brayden Lape each had two hits and two RBIs. Tyler Husted led Michigan Center with a pair of hits and an RBI.

Grass Lake 11, Michigan Center 1: The Warriors scored nine times in the fifth inning to break open a close game. Liam Metheringham and Walker McKibbin both finished with three hits in the contest for GLHS. McKibbin earned the pitching win with a no-hitter and striking out nine batters.

Tecumseh 13, Jackson 5: Connor Bush and Cooper Alger both had a pair of hits for Jackson in the SEC road loss.

Tecumseh 17, Jackson 0: The Vikings could only muster two hits in the second game of the doubleheader. Zander Resor and Connor Bush collected the hits for Jackson.

Manchester 9, Napoleon 3: Grant Bradley finished with two hits and knocked in one run for the Pirates. Bradley struck out 11 batters in five innings pitched for Napoleon. Chase Conklin had two hits for Manchester in the win.

Hanover-Horton 14, Addison 0: The Comets won the final game of the three-game series. Jack Wooster tallied four hits and knocked in three runs and Cameron Sherwood added three hits and two RBIs for Hanover-Horton.

Homer 15, Vandercook Lake 0: The Trojans swept the Jayhawks in the three-game series. Parker Chamberlain Brock Butler combined for the four-inning no-hitter striking out 11 batters total.

Softball

Columbia Central 10, Manchester 2: Kelsey Fausz finished with two hits and knocked in three runs for the Golden Eagles. Bri Boone, Abi Keller, and Camden Knapp each collected two hits for CCHS. Hailey Wetherby earned the pitching win with 11 strikeouts.

Columbia Central 12, Manchester 11: Bri Boone knocked in the winning run in the seventh inning for CCHS. Boone hit a home run – finishing with four hits- and knocked in a pair of runs. Rylee Knapp, Gianna Evans, Camden Knapp, and Kelsey Fausz each collected a pair of hits for CCHS.

Vandercook Lake 6, East Jackson 4: Vandercook Lake earned its first win of the season scoring four times in the fifth inning. Courtney Riddle finished with two hits and an RBI for VCL. Erin Riddle pitched a complete game for VCL striking out five batters and allowing only five hits. Layla Stokely finished with one hit and an RBI for EJ.

East Jackson 25, Vandercook Lake 22: The Trojans won a wild one for its first victory of the season. The two teams combined for 37 hits in the game. Addison Hendricks had six hits – including a home run – and recorded five RBIs for East Jackson. Emily Uyttenhove finished with four hits and four RBIs for the Trojans. Chelsea Bayer hit a home run and knocked in six runs for the Jayhawks. Taylor Sildack tallied four hits and knocked in four runs for VCL.

Grass Lake 13, Jonesville 1: The Warriors scored nine times in the first inning. Mo Conrad had three hits and two RBIs and was the winning pitcher with eight strikeouts for Grass Lake. Olivia Turner finished with two hits and two RBIs for the Warriors.

Grass Lake 17, Jonesville 2: Grass Lake scored 10 runs in the second inning to sweep the doubleheader. Bree Salts, Aspen Cook, and Makenzie Hilberer each recorded two hits for Grass Lake.

Monroe 16, Jackson 0: Jackson failed to gain a hit in the contest against Monroe.

Lumen Christi 8, Toledo Academy 4: The Titans scored three runs in the seventh inning. Bella Wrozek earned the pitching win striking out seven batters in seven innings. Emily Rogers, Mallory Arcaro, and Ava Cumberworth each had a pair of hits for the Titans.

Toledo Academy 11, Lumen Christi 8: Toledo scored four times in the seventh inning to maintain the lead. Mallory Arcaro hit a home run and Lily Ganton finished with two hits and three RBIs for Lumen Christi.

Homer 10, Napoleon 3: Sydney Gallagher tallied three hits for the Pirates in the loss.

Homer 13, Napoleon 12: Napoleon scored twice in the seventh inning but could not pull even despite collecting 20 hits in the contest. Hayden Rendall and Maggie Beer both collected four hits and Sydney Gallagher knocked in four runs for Napoleon.

Hanover-Horton 12, Michigan Center 0: Alexyn DuBois pitched a five-inning no hitter striking out eight batters in the process. Halle Swihart led HHHS with four hits and Dani Riggs added three hits and two RBIs.

Hanover-Horton 10, Michigan Center 0: Hanover-Horton swept the series with seven runs in the first three innings. Alexyn DuBois finished with three hits and two RBIs, and Mollie Easter and Amanda Ley had two hits apiece for the Comets. Michigan Center was limited to two hits – one each by Kylie McKee and Nora Fleming.

Boys Track and Field

Concord at Big Eight Reading: Connor Stevens won the 800-meter run (2:11), Concord won the 400-meter relay (46.09) and the 1,600-meter relay (3:45), Trenton Frazer won the pole vault (8-6), and Mekhi Wingfield won the long jump (20-7) for the Yellowjackets. Girls Track and Field

Concord at Big Eight at Reading: Cieara Barrett won the 400-meters (1:09) and the 800-meter run (2:50) for Concord. Not team scores were posted but the Yellowjackets won 11 of the 16 posted events in the duel meet against Bronson and Reading. Girls Soccer

Michigan Center 4, Columbia Central 1: Cecelia Scaife and Lydia Meyer each scored a pair of goals for Michigan Center. Abbie Hess finished with eight saves for the Cardinals. Mara Henry scored the only goal for CCHS.

Grass Lake 5, Napoleon 1: Lauren McLain scored her first career goal on an assist by Lily Eagen. Joy Flack finished with 14 saves in net for the Pirates.

Boys Golf

Big Eight at Springport: Springport High School won its own jamboree at Burr Oak Golf Course with a four-man total of 182. Brody Baum finished with a 41, Maximilian Argumedo shot a 43, and Braydon Hawes carded a 44 for the Spartans. Concord posted only two scores led by Lleyton Bauman with a 47.

Temperance-Bedford 173, Tecumseh 174, Jackson 177: The Vikings were edged in the tri-meet at Tecumseh. Jacob England finished with a 42 and Logan McKinney and Brayden Norton each finished with 44s for Jackson.

Girls Tennis

Columbia Central 8, Leslie 0: Columbia Central improved to 5-0 on the season with a shutout of Leslie at home. Iiana Fowle and Lily Ellison shut out their opponents 6-0 and 6-0 at Nos. 3 and 4 singles respectively.

Gabriel Richard 6, Lumen Christi 2: The Titans earned wins by Kate Ganton/Lexie Thornhill at No. 1 doubles and Katelyn Ellis/Allison Wheeler at No. 4 doubles.

Indiana Wesleyan 3, Spring Arbor 1: Emmalee Hamp finished with one hit and an RBI for Spring Arbor at home Wednesday.

Indiana Wesleyan 6, Spring Arbor 3: Grace Lentz recorded one hit and knocked in one run for Spring Arbor. The Cougars are 29-18 overall, 21-13 in Crossroads League action.
