Softball

Mid-Michigan CC 4, Jackson College 3: Mid-Michigan Community College scored twice in the sixth inning to pull ahead. Camryn MacKenzie hit a home run and knocked in two runs and Elianna Noll added two hits for Jackson (20-19). The Jets will face Lansing Community College in an elimination game Friday at noon at Marysville City Park.

Nearly two dozen Western High School athletes celebrated Athletic Signing Day at WHS. From lacrosse to figure skating athletes signed to play college sports at a number of universities and colleges. Here is the list of students from WHS.

Fielder signs to wrestle at Baldwin Wallace University

Hanover-Horton High School senior David Fielder, shown here with family members, signed Thursday to wrestle at Baldwin Wallace University – a Division 3 college near Cleveland, Ohio. Fielder was a three-time state medalist in Michigan High School Athletic Association wrestling and finished with a school-record 156 wins in four years. He plans to study mechanical engineering at BWU.

*Rain on Thursday forced the NJCAA District 12 games between Macomb and Jackson College to be moved to Friday. Jackson will be the home team in game one and Macomb the host in game two.
