Boys Soccer

Michigan Center 1, Grass Lake 0: Spencer Berkeypile scored on penalty kick in the first half and Michigan Center made it hold up. Henry Wright stopped eight shots for the Cardinals.

Columbia Central 7, Jonesville 2: The Golden Eagles earned a road win the Cascades Conference action.

Jackson Christian 8, Quincy 0: The Royals rebounded from its first loss last week with a victory at home. J.D. Locke scored three goals and dished two assists and Drew Barney tallied three assists for Jackson Christian (10-1).

Jackson 4, Adrian 1: The Vikings earned a win on the road Monday against Adrian.

Girls Golf

Divine Child 191, Lumen Christi 214: Mackenzie Whitney finished third overall with 48 and Peyton Best placed fourth with a 49 for the Titans.

I-8 Jamboree at Marshall: Marshall, Western, and Northwest continue to battle for second place in the conference. Harper Creek won the event at 193, Marshall shot 203, Western finished one stroke behind, and Northwest was fourth at 210. Kaia Bruneel of Western finished second individually with a 44, Anna Thompson of Marshall was third scoring 45, Jaedyn Bartell of Northwest and Zadie Zuehlke of Marshall tied for fifth with 50s, and Cami Boldt of Western and Mya Warner of Northwest tied for ninth scoring 52s.

Columbia Central at East Lansing Invitational: The Golden Eagles finished fifth with a four-man total of 372. Logan Bentley of CCHS tied for first at Forest Akers West with an even-par 72. Marrisa Berro of Columbia Central tied for 20th place with a 95.

Boys Tennis

Columbia Central 6, Pinckney 2: The Golden Eagles swept the doubles’ matches with victories by Trenton Ruttkofsky/Charlie Tippee at No. 1 singles; Tucker Hills/Evan DeOss with a win at No. 2 singles; Nolan Denney/Landon Lorenz took the win at No. 3 doubles; and Nick Aiken/Carson Luppo won at No. 4 doubles.

Lumen Christi 5, De LaSalle 3: The Titans earned a home victory sweeping the doubles’ competitions. Holden Luce/Gabe Cooper won at No. 1 doubles; Luke Dumont/Maden Brady took the victory at No. 2 doubles; Chase Schirmacher/T.J. O’Neil won at No. 3 doubles; and Brogan Kelly/Harrison Botke won at No. 4 doubles for the Titans.

Western 6, Northwest 2: Lucas Parrott, Aidan Carter, and Jack Spooner earned singles titles at Nos. 1, 3, and 4 singles. Gavin Rush earned a 6-2 and 6-2 win for NWHS at No. 2 singles. Western earned doubles wins by Morgan Devine/Dylan Rogers at No. 1 doubles; Bailee Porter/Jack Mannor won at No. 2 doubles; Connor Chilson/Alex Bennett won 6-3 and 6-3 at No. 3 doubles; and Preston Schram/Jaxon Gerding won the No. 4 match for the Mounties.

College Athletic Events

Volleyball

Jackson College at Spring Arbor University: Jackson College earned a pair of wins at Spring Arbor University. The Jets defeated Bethel College reserves 25-13 and 25-18 and Spring Arbor University reserves 26-24 and 27-25. Allie Jarchow finished with nine kills and Jaden Bates served three aces for JC against Bethel College. Samantha Wynn tallied nine kills and Alivia Smith dished 19 assists against Spring Arbor. The Jets are now 9-2 overall for the season. JC travels to Mott Community College Wednesday for a 7 p.m. match.

Men’s Golf

Jackson College at Schoolcraft Invitational: The Jets finished with a four-man total of 329 at Salem Hills Golf club. Michael Klintworth shot a 77 to lead Jackson, Eric Bonser shot 83, Teddy Trujillo carded an 84, and Cooper Johnston finished with an 85. Jackson College will participate in the Kirtland Invitational Friday beginning at 11 a.m.
